Default advance settings help needed EP45-UD3P 8gb Q9450

I recently switch from ASUS P5 motherboard to Gigabyte. Huge difference. I never will go back to ASUS. Problem with USB halt on boot all gone. Memory problem gone.
    I build new system with following hardware:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
motherboard: EP45-UD3P bios updated to F6<o:p></o:p>
    Memory Mushkin 8gb 4x2gb 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory <o:p></o:p>
    Memory link for 2 sets of : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146785 <o:p></o:p>
    CPU: Q9450 (2.66gHz, FSB 1333mHz 45nm)<o:p></o:p>
    using Zelman CPU air cooler.<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
After reading this board I change memory to 2.08 v and this is the only modification from default setting in F6 BIOS. I I also enabled sata and using gigabyte RAID1 as primary 1TB drive , south bridge i use for secondary SATA drives.
I installed Vista 64bit and everything working fine. Now I want to get better performance from this board, I know it capable to do it, I am not hard core gamer, but want stable and reasonably fast system.<o:p></o:p>
any advice to memory and CPU advance settings in my configuration will be appreciated.<o:p></o:p>
One more question, I know that memory I have PC2-8500 1600 with recommended voltage 2.1. I set it to 2.08 as the only change from optimal default. But E6 utility UI in memory tab show:<o:p></o:p>
Mushkin, PC2-6400(400mhz) part number 991599(996599) and it shown same for all 4 slots. Is it problem with UI recognizing it, or motherboard/memory have problem?<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>

Additional problem found. Computer reboot itself from Vista 64 each hour in idle mode. I guess it trying to go to sleep in an hour and then something happened and it rebooting. I change power safe mode to not go to sleep and it working now. Any idea? I see people recommend other changes to memory/CPU from default, but none of it for my processor or 8gb memory combination, so I do not want to apply it before confirmed, the only change from default is DRAM in 2.08v.
I also set all my system detail in my signature, for your refference. Thanks

All 1066 ram is 800 ram, just tested to run 1066 at rated timings and voltages. So what you see is for sure normal

MANY Settings may need to be set to keep 8GB Stable and use S3 sleep so if you want to use that it will take you some work for sure I think

Here would be optimal ranges for your setup at stock >>>>

Thanks you for your advice. I set all values to minimum, from recommended range and memtest86 still working 12 hours with no problem. System looks stable, except S3 suspend mode, but I am not using that function for now. System still cannot wakeup from sleep if activated. If you know which parameter affect it, I will appreciate, otherwise it can be postponed as I am not using sleep mode for now.
The next question is over clocking. Did not find any message with Q9450 and 8gb and UD3P recommended OC settings. I do not want to go crazy, but safe recommended setting really appreciated. Looks like my memory and motherboard hold well to your provided settings and I can push it faster.
    Thanks

FYI, I did some homework, as recomended in your P35 article, check CPU temperature under load, after 5min running Orthos coretemp still show max 55, which I guess is safe.
Hopefully I am ready for next step.

Well minimums of what I suggested may not be stable at all. Since you are memtest stable but not S3 then you may need to raise some timings or voltages. But if you are not using S3 and all stability tests pass for you then that is stable enough for sure. Such as memtest passes 5-10 passes and orthos or prime95 passes 8+ hours then you are good to go

Well since you want to overclock and do not use S3 you can worry about that much later.

What speed do you want to run? What cooler do you have, I see Zalman, but which #?

I am using Zalman CNPS9700 LED CPU Cooler . That info is in my signature with link to item in place I purchased.
Can you suggest which parameters can mostly effect S3? Problem with S3 that only way I know how to test it is load OS, and then from Vista64 put it to sleep, but it may not be only hardware problem. It most likely should depend on all drivers to be properly compatible and as I am running gigabyte Raid1 it may prevent computer from going into S3. But as discussed it not really used by my desktop now. I am running my desktop 24x7, never off, so S3 mode will minimize noise when not used and hopefully prolong hard drive life and decrease room temperature, but it may wait.
I do not have particulate speed target, based on the processor and memory whatever you suggest is reliably achievable.

Default Re: advance settings help needed EP45-UD3P 8gb Q9450

Well voltages and timings all can affect S3. How long have you tested with Memtest86+, how many passes?

Try these changes and see if it gets S3 to work, they are loose for sure, but just want to see if your 8GB may be the issue or not >>>

    tRAS 15 << Set 18

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD 3 <<< Set 3
    tWTR 4 <<< Set 8
    tWR 8 << Set 12
    tRFC 68
    tRTP 4
    Command Rate (CMD) 2

    Channel A & B
    Static tRead Value......................... 9

If that fails try this >>>>

    CPU Termination .... 1.22-1.24

If that does not help, I may have to help you test out a few Vtt and MCH ref settings

You may also want to test the latest Beta BIOS. If you do, here it is >>>
    http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/7/...45ud3p.F7c.rar

And be sure to read this and DO NOT USE @BIOS >>>

Memtest86+ I was runnning for 15hours, it has many passes, more then 10, and no errors.
I tried change memory settings and and also tried CPU Termination .... 1.23. S3 still not working. I also updated to new beta BIOS provided and reset to optimal default and then reenter recommended settins, but still same problem with S3. waiting for sugested Vtt and MCH ref settings. Plus recomended OC
