    Default Ga-ep45-ud3p memory

    Hi i am still getting my memory to fail after 10mins in memtest i have increased the voltage to 2.1 volts but still fails
    Im using corsair DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 8 gig in total,also a q9550 and a 4870 graphics card. I would like to overclock as i have a true black cooler which is keeping cpu unclocked at about 25deg could someone please give me some help with some settings so i can overclock and try and get longer than 10mins with memtest

    Just for starters..

    Change Performance Enhance = STANDARD
    &
    tRFC = 60-70
    GA-P35C-DS3R Rev2.0 F11 bios, E8200 (@3.0Ghz), OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Reaper 4GB (@1200Mhz), Xonar D1, 8800GTS 512, Corsair HX520 (Single 12volt line, Max 40A), WDC 3200aaks/5000aaks in AHCI mode, Vista 64 Premium.

    Hi
    thanks everyone for helping ,i have changed all the settings to what you said but it fails each time to boot so i have noway of knowing if i works in memtest
    Every setting i try just has no effect ,is it the memory thats no good and if i buy more will it still happen if yes to memory which would be best for this board and cpu i would like to overclock ,if anyone can advise me further on something else to try it would be very much appreciated .

    Try main timings at 5-5-5-18

    Also, purely for testing you could decrease your memory multiplier from 2.40x to 2.00x. This will run your DDR2 at 667Mhz.

    I know 667Mhz is no doubt a frequency you wouldn't want to stick with, but it will prove a point. Hopefully there should be no memtest errors with the Ram essentially underclocked.

    However, on SOME setups, 8GB of ram has to be downclocked when used on some board memory combinations, you'll note that over at the Corsair Forums.

    just changed timings to 5-5-5-18 it lasted to 17mins this time
    i have now underclocked to 2.00 so will let you know cheers
