Anyone? Ive turned off the CPU EIST and similar speed-step options and it wont accept an overclock? Just reverts back to 333FSB, and RAM timings wont change. BIOS reports the changes, but doesnt apply them after bootup

I reflashed the bios and that solved my first problem. Well now it seems my board refuses to post at 420fsb, but 419fsb boots fine and stable. ive tried raising the voltage to no effect. any ideas?

There are a lot of things that affect what FSB you can reach, and it'd be hard to cover them all in this thread. Here are a few off the top of my head:

    1. Lower your ram timings. Say, if you have your ram set to 4-4-4-12, try 5-5-5-15 and see if that allows you to raise your fsb to 420.

    2. Reduce your CPU multiplier. I have and EP45-DS3L with an E8500 CPU running at 445x9. Reducing my multiplier by .5 helped me to achieve a higher FSB and overall CPU speed. I did however, have to relax my Ram timings as well (4-5-5-15 atm).

Check the other threads here referring to specific OC issues, and you'll see they're using a form showing all their BIOS settings. Make a copy of that, toss in all the settings you're using, and people can make more specific recommendations for you.

Well it seems that the P43 series chipsets have a FSB "Wall" around~415FSB. I'm stable at 419 but 420 isnt happening. Right now Im running my RAM at 5-6-6-15 at around DDR2-1117. Ill get that form up in a bit. Heres the form, I have entered everything including voltages:

Yep. hit the FSB wall. Drat. I guess I will have to accept running at no higher than 419FSB.

Nvm. Ditched the EP43-DS3l and picked up a EP45-UD3P and all my worries are gone!
