    E8500
    GA-EP45-UD3R
    Corsair PSU
    XP Pro
A bunch of WD Black Caviars - sounds yummy lol

I am a pro photographer and will use this to continue making a living...

What RAM should I get? Budget: $40 - $80.. I could go up to $100 if I get a noticeable performance edge.

I want 2 x 2gb = 4gb please. Im ready to order and some of the specials in my Newegg shopping cart turn to pumpkins tonight, so please point me to Newegg RAM items so that i can include this when I buy.

Is it true that for the UD3R, the RAM must be 1.8v? How about this:
    Newegg.com - mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

    Prompt reply appreciated!

If you have 32bit XP pro you do realize that 32bit operating systems have a memory limitation and 4GB of ram will not show up or be used. Thats why the 64bit is the only way to go if your buying a new OS.

Ram will hardly ever make a difference as far as speed/timings in real world performance, mostly just in benchmarks.

Having said that those G Skill Pi's are great ram and my recommendation also or just get the budget ram. It depends on your CPU, if you have a low multi then get 1066 ram to not limit your OC otherwise 800mhz ram is fine

Thanks for the recommendation! So if I go with 1066, which G.Skills would be best?

try visit at Egg with 1066 and read some reviews out there at
    Newegg.com - 2.1V, 4GB (2 x 2GB), DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500), Desktop Memory, Memory, Computer Hardware

Here is two different brands of ram kits 1066 that works for UD3R reviews link below,

    Newegg.com - OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

    Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

if you get 1066, make sure you get 5-5-5-15 timing.

Be careful, lots of UD3P/R have issues with 1066 pain in a@@ cuz they bought it wrong kind of ram that are not compatiable for this board.

any 800 no plm but 1066 watch out.

    I like this RAM:

Mushkin 1066. Users report that even without bumping the voltage up, UD3R will recognize it as 1066!

    Newegg.com - mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Yep I have read customers reviews at egg, someone said this boot it up 1066 right off the bat only 1.8 ? I say this ram sure works for UD3X, mostly other brands 1066 volt around 2.0-2.4

let me know if you get it and how was it.

How is XP PRO x64 SP2 working for you? I like XP PRO, but have heard mixed comments about 64-bit. I mostly run Photoshop and Genuine Fractals Print Pro.
