    I am running Vista 64bit.

Checking the CPU pins is about the only thing I havent done yet. Im curious how I would alter their position?

    Thanks.

I suppose Ghz is talking about 4 HTS pins so, I guess the better way to do it is to turn off the 4 pins; carefully lift them from holes without moving the HTS, check they fit back straight and properly and finally turn them on again... You can always remove the HTS and reinstall it back... but, there's better to replace the thermic grease and you should have some in-hand...

    Hi queezy,

I had a single pin out of line and just used the tip of a needle to give it a bit of a nudge in the right direction.

@ Johnny, I'm talking about the 1366 pins inside the CPU socket, not the 4 pushpins on the stock intel heatsinks
took me a minute to think about what HTS stood for, lol

    LOL
Well, it seems qweezy will re-install CPU after all... If it doesn't work, at least he has tried!
