do you still have the IP35-E? I am guessing you never tested that ram on that board in conjunction with the newer processor.

Your PSU might have been and still be solid, but does it provide enough juice to the new RAM and CPU combination, and does it do it on any board you can get your hands on.

I just would like to find out if its down to that board/bios companies code being buggy or if its a lack of power on your part.
Please don't take it as an insult, I would like to know about the real cause as much as you, but without your setup having all components swapped out we cant say for sure what is to blame.

Anandtech released a review yesterday on the UD3P using the Q9550 and the 2x2GB G.Skill PC2-8800 (DDR2 1100). They were able to achieve a 4.25GHz overclock while running the RAM at only DDR2-1000 speeds.

The UD3, UD3R, and UD3P boards should all be the same when it comes to RAM compatibility. If Anandtech was able to get this PC2-8800 running on their UD3P, we should be able to do the same on the UD3R.

Here's the only quote from the article that has any relevance to our problem:

The primary voltages settings were 1.36V NB, 1.38V VTT, 1.70V PLL, 2.00V Dimm, and 1.425V for the CPU. We tried to run the memory higher, but could not get stability at the DDR2-1200 mark in Nero Recode or Crysis. Vdroop was approximately -.02V with Load Line Calibration (LLC) enabled and -.035V with it disabled at idle. Under load VDroop was -.025V with LLC enabled and -.05V with it disabled.

Well, it seems the issue is UD3R specific with quads.

I don't know if I just got lucky or not, but I just built YOUR system a couple of hours ago and everything fired up fine including both G.Skill sticks. I didn't touch any BIOS settings. Not only that, both sticks are at 1066mhz without any modification.

Let me know if there are any specific details you would like to know.

    UD3R Rev. 1.1 (Bios: F4)
    Q9550 E0 (2.8GHz)
    2x2GB G.Skill PC2-8800 (1066mhz)

    EDIT: Complete build
    PSU: 620HX
    GPU: eVGA GTX 260 SC

Damn. OK post your bios settings please. Also, what is the rest of your set-up, all components wise?

I actually tried last night to get 2 sticks to run again. I put them in slot 1 and 3. no guy. I put them in slot 1 and 2. IT BOOTED(never had before). So i try 1 and 3 again. No go. slots 2 and 4. No go.

I just returned my rev 1.1 with bios f6 to newegg for a refund. i now have my original rev 1.0 on bios f5 and it won't run. maybe I should flash to f4 bios and see if it will work.

Anyone know where I can get f4 bios for Ep45-UD3R?

clo007- you got the system to boot up with both sticks in single channel on the 1 and 2 slots, will it go in the 3 and 4 slots?

at least youll be able to narrow it down to the board not running 2 sticks in dual channel config.

Slots 3 and 4 no work. Slots 2 and 3 no work. Slots 1 and 4 no work.

I can only get slots 1 and 2 to post but it is still single channel.
