Here is the memory i am using.

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel

    <table class="specification" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td class="name">Speed</td> <td class="desc"><script type="text/javascript">document.write(neg_specification_newli ne('DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)'));</script>DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="name">Cas Latency</td> <td class="desc"><script type="text/javascript">document.write(neg_specification_newli ne('6'));</script>6</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="name">Timing</td> <td class="desc"><script type="text/javascript">document.write(neg_specification_newli ne('6-6-6-18'));</script>6-6-6-18</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="name">Voltage</td> <td class="desc"><script type="text/javascript">document.write(neg_specification_newli ne('2.0V'));</script>2.0V</td></tr></tbody></table>

the voltage on the mobo is only at 1.8v it says.

i upped it and that did not work either.

I just read through the thread and it seems very weird. I'm also trying to help several other who can't run more than one RAM stick, and it really seem like a common issue.
Have you guys tried DIMM Clock skew control? As I understand it, it can by used to sychronize dual channel and maybe that is exactly the problem, that the memory isn't "in sync".
Take a look here as well:
    Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Living Review - Page 2 - Clunk's Forums.
I'll post over at Anandtech as well to see if they can contact someone higher up the Gigabyte hierachy about it.

PS: I'll get a UD3P next week as well but mine comes pretested form JZelectronic.de so I won't have this issue ;P

Everyone should email Janus Yeh though at janus.yeh@gigabyte.com.tw, he might be able to help or get Gigabyte to work on this issue.
The standard tech support guys tend to not have more clue than we do so it's no wonder they don't reply or provide a solution to the problem.

boost memvoltage .05 volt over recommended and see how it goes,to compensate for vdroop.

Vdroop happens only on the CPU:
Intel Processor Power Delivery Design Guidelines and Specifications: Vdroop Explained - The Tech Repository Forums

What you're saying is that you board undervolts the RAM.

If you had read the thread you would know that people have tried underclocking their RAM and that the RAM runs fine in single channel, so VDIMM is definitely not the problem.

Voltage droop/drop /less voltage than u thought youd get occurs on this motherboard type (ep45-ud3 series) ie the voltage under load is less than is set in the bios,at least it does for me on both ram and cpu ,mch i have no way of measuring.
If someone does not use /is not a technical expert on a particular motherboard/chipset ,cpu ,memory type they shouldnt pass generalisations on what they think. It may confuse others who are looking actual practical experience of particular hardware rather than "postalot" theories.
I am not advocating underclocking ram ,if you read my post you would see I am advovating increasing ram voltage by .05 volts over the recommended voltage for any particular speed setting.
I realise the post is rather long and involved but cest la vie.

Hey cloo, I posted in the thread earlier because I was having the same problems. Well I bought another mobo DFI x48, and its does the EXACT same thing, channels 1,2 will boot. 3,4 wont. Ram will only run in single channel. I still have my UD3P and still havent figured out the problem, but its doing it on 2 boards. I bought another set of ram still same thing, have tried with 4 sets of 2x2. So obviously I have to be doing something wrong...My p35 board runs all the ram fine dual chanel. Just thought I would chime in to help narrow down the problem.

Yeah I had a Corsair tx750w, thought that might be the culprit so got the 1000w and the problem remains. Im going to pickup another UD3P tomorrow. If I get the same problem I can be sure its something im doing wrong. If it works or I figure something out ill post back and let ya know.
