Have you got this drive connected to the Gsata Purple port? If so, I believe that's how Jmicron (aka GBsata2) list it.

    See FAQ here:-

    From FAQ:-

    <table width="705" border="0" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr><td class="body-blue" valign="top" align="left" bgcolor="#ffcccc">Q3</td> <td class="body-blue" valign="top" align="left" bgcolor="#ffcccc"> Why device manager of windows show ide cdrom as an SCSI device?</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="body-blue" valign="top" align="left" bgcolor="#ffcccc">Ans:</td> <td class="body-blue" valign="top" align="left" bgcolor="#ffcccc"> JMB driver base on Windows SCSI mini port driver architecture , if any device attach on JMB controller will be an SCSI device.</td></tr></tbody></table>
Alternatively use one of the Intel ICH10r ports (yellow)

Its just a JMICRON chip labelled as gigabytes. Yes it is meant to be GGB36X because you installed the drivers from gigabyte cd at the beginning of your operatingsystem.
