Thread: Gigabyte EX58-DS4 Issue?

  1. #1

    Default Gigabyte EX58-DS4 Issue?

I have posted this same question on another forum and had very little to no response...

I recently purchased an i7 setup, and I've been using Gigabyte boards for years (approximately 6-7) and never had a problem...

The build went just relatively smoothly... I booted into Windows for the first time and installed all the drivers from the included CD...

Well, as soon as that was all done, my onboard NIC started going crazy!

    on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off

I restored bios defaults... Same problem.

I poked around in the bios, found an option called "GREEN NIC" and by the description, it would appear as though the bios can automatically enable/disable the onboard NIC if it's not in use?

Well, I sure as heck didn't want my computer having control over itself, so I left that option disabled... But still my problem persisted.

It wasn't until I "ENABLED" the automatic control of the NIC that I was able to get a connection?

This seems very strange to me.
    Is this a known issue?

    Is there a bios fix?

Should I return the mainboard and get another one?

    -Thanks In Advance!

Ignore this post... Not like any of you bothered to try to help anyways.
I flashed the latest beta bios and my problem has disappeared.
