On the main BIOS screen, hit [Ctrl] and [F1]. You should see the screen flash if you do this correctly. Have any extra settings appeared in the MIT section? Hopefully an option to alter MCH ref will appear.

Psycho buddie. I tried Ctrl+F1 but MCH ref does not appear. It has never appeared for me. My Mobo is GA-EP43-DS3L which is a cutdown version of the P45 Mobo. Can you please advise me to get a stable 400X9 OC?

Us "L" cheapstakes don't get all the good stuff, though your "L" has CPY PLL, mine does not.

Are you positive you need that high MCH Core?
What strap multiplier do you have the 2.00B or 2.00D?
If you care to try my theory about memory timings, select your EPP profile (XMS), 2.00D multiplier, and change all timings but Static tRead Value to auto, try a 9 Static tRead for a start, and set Channels Driving Strength to 800.

I screen capture of ET6 advanced voltage window, MemSet main and SPD window, and CPU-Z under load (can be Prime95/ORTHOS) may give more complete picture about your settings.

I increased MCH core as increasing the CPU Vcore was not helping. I am using 2.0D strap.Proccy and RAM is 1:1 ratio. I will try you theory buddie but as of now I need someone to check the settings failing for me and advise me the next thing that I can try. I am shocked to see that even with 1.39 vol, my E7300 proccy would not OC to 400X9 stable. With 400X9, I am able to boot up in Windows but OCCT fails after 1 min of monitoring. Also, Intel Burn test fails after 2 tests out of 5. However, I am able to get a stable 400X8.5 with 1.34 volt. Please check the settings I have posted and advise me the settings that I can try for a stable OC.

I have updated BIOS to F9C beta. Does this have anything that is preventing a stable OC?

I will post pictures of Memset, CPUZ, IBT , ET6 Advanced soon.

    Please advise......

I have looked at your settings and found no flow with them (though I am a little visually impaird.)
I have managed 400x9.5 with less VCore and and about the same memory timings you use. Only tried 5 loops HBT 6124MB because my temps hit the 78c.
BTW what core temps you got?

VCore and other settings are may vary from processir to processir/motherboard etc.

With IBT 5 sets and Proccy running at 3.4 Ghz( 400X8.5), core temps are 61-62. I think either I have a bad chip or maybe bad Mobo which is limiting me to OC to 400X9. I have read at many forums that E7300 OCs easily to 3.6 with 1.36 or less CPU core voltage. I dont know why I am unable to get a stable 400X9 OC.

U think 62c is on the edge, but wait for higher athoruty than me to comment on it.
What CPU heat sink do you use and what is the room temp?

I wouldn't go as far as bad CPU or mobo, you are already 26% overclocked, you still beat the system.

It's true you need some luck with these things, sometimes you have less luck, I wouldn't say bad.
If you can't make it to 400x9 maybe you'd manage with rasing the FSB.
I can't advise you about CPU Termination/Reference and PLL as I have know how to work them yet.

62c is at the start of my comfortable range. I'd try for 65c or under on a hot day, which will give a decent temp at all times of the year. Many people I know have "summer overclocks" and "winter overclocks" , especially my American and Indian friends (UK born and bred myself, but university was an excellent place to meat people from all cultures, it was awesome!).

70c would be my absolute limit for Prime95 temps, but I wouldn't want to be there. As you're only getting 62c running IBT, this tells me a couple of things:

You have alot of head room to increase voltage to get your desired 3.6GHz

Your Core voltage may still be the problem. I've encountered times where my initial test was with IBT, and it passed 10 runs. Prime 95 revealed instability at about 6-8 hours in. I then tuned Vcore to get 24 hour prime stable. At my prime stable Vcore, IBT gave temps touching 75c. This tells me that it's possible IBT runs cool at a Vcore slightly below stable. Had this happen with my Q8200 and this current E7400

I'm not saying the second point is actually what happens, just that this is what happened to me/was observed by me.

I'll have a closer look at your template soon when I'm able (looking after my new second cousin atm, she's very demanding).

Until then, does [Ctrl] & [F1] give you any aditional options. We know that it doesn't reveal MCH ref, but you may get something else (it could be the reason PLL shows up for example).

Hopefully someone is coming to collect the baby soon..... I REALLY don't want to have to change a nappy.... Yuck! Smelly green alien poo FTL!

I think 62C with IBT is fine. I am using Thermalright Ultra Extreme Black CPU Cooler. Lets hope that someone helps me get a 400X9 stable OC. I have known from many forums that my Mobo has a FSB wall at 419. I have to find my FSB wall. Lets wait and see.

Experts please help a noob ( Thats me).

    Hehe Psycho buddie. Alien Poo.

Coming back to the problem, Ctrl+F1 does not give me any additional options. I get CPU Vcore, CPU Termination voltage, GLT Ref, CPU PLL, MCH Core, ICH Core, MCH Volt, DRAM Voltage.

Yes 62C is the temp with IBT for 400X8.5 = 3.4 Ghz OC. For the same OC, OCCT temps are 54-55. Ambient temp is 22-23 for me.

I would have applied more voltage but knowing Intel Specs for E7300, Max voltage is 1.3625, I was scared. You can understand, this is the first time I am overclocking. So I am still learning from everyone. I am surprised to know that many people have managed a 3.6 Ghz (400X9) at 1.36V. I have to provide 1.34 vol for 400X8.5=3.4 Ghz. This makes me understand that my proccy is a voltage hungry one.

I will await your reply. :)
