    Default Help overclocking

Hi I have a Intel Q9400 Quad core(2.67GHz) with a GB EP45 DS4P mobo that I want to overclock. Now in the past i have overclocked it to 3.2 but it just reverts itself back to 2.67 (only sometimes it might stay at 3.2 for couple of days) is it because im overclocking the ram to much (Can't remember what I had it at just did a bios update) I overclocked it after the bios update but it went back to 2.67 but after some time of putting it back to 3.2 it has stayed at 3.2 for a week now but my mate has the same CPU and MOBO and he gets 3.5 and its stable is it because he has 1200 Ram and I have 1066? Whats the answer because im sick of it. Is there any way of me reaching 3.5?

FSB:Ram ratio I think will reduce the stress on the ram.

what fsb and multipliers did you set to overclock it? I am not sure about possible multipliers for Q9400 now...Isn't it just that your cpu underclocks when there is no load because of CPU enhanced halt enabled in BIOS?

PCI Express Frequency should be set at 100 mhz. It scales as you OC your comp and that's not good.

yes "to around", but not exactly 100. So this is the settings which works for you now? Or are you saying it is unstable.
