    I would really a appreciate some help with overclocking to 3.8
    I can get there on these settings:

    The thing is i can get it stable at this and pass the intel burntest ,but the v.core is high if i drop it down it will only last 3 mins on intel burntest ,running at this voltage the temps are around 80 deg which is high ,normally temps are about 30deg is this very high for the intel burntest and is there anything i can do to get it stable without having the voltage up so high any help is much appreciated

    What stepping is your 9550? If its CO then that may be as good as it gets, but likely you can get lower volts. From what others have said/found the quad cores(9550/9650) seem to like CPU reference and mch reference) of .80V, shown in ET6.

    How you set this is like follows:
    Set VTT(cpu termination) to 1.20v(stock), then set the references mentioned to .80v, then raise the VTT back to what you need or had it at, so 1.30V.

    I have the same processor/mobo combo (also a C0) and i'm running 471x8.5 currently. I too am looking for the sweet spot on voltage. Without LLC it seems you have to go 1.4+ and from what i know it isn't a good idea =/

    Thanks everyone for your help,i have adjusted my settings to these belowand the max temp it went to on intel burn was 66 deg so im really happy
    If there is anything really not good in these settings could someone please say,again thanks for your help

    Looks good!

    Test with ICH and ICH I/O on stock voltage as you may not need more, but maybe you do??

    Other that that looks fine.

    I just got my Q9650 installed today so I'll be testing tomorrow. Then I can try some settings.

    What is XP SP3 slipstream?. You have Vista 64 SP1 on your new build list? Can you tell me about what you are doing. I just stepped onto the learning curve here...
