    Default Need advice on GA-EP45-UD3P / Q9550 OC

    I was hoping this fine group could offer suggestions. This is my first OC. I've assembled the following rig:

    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P Rev 1.0 Bios: F6
    CPU: Intel Q9550 SLAWQ 2.83ghz OC:3.48ghz
    CPU Cooler: MassCool 8WA741 92mm Ball
    VGA: SAPPHIRE 100265L Radeon HD 4830
    Memory: Mushkin 2x2GB 1066 8500 (dual channel - slots 1 and 3)
    PSU: Thermaltake 650w

    I have it running stable (all P95 tests overnight) at 3.48ghz, but only at 820 memory speed. I was hoping to get full rated speed from my ram but I'm thinking that 820 at 4-4-4-12 timings will give me similar performance to 1066 at 5-5-5-15 timings. Am I right? Or would I be better to still try to shoot for 1066 with 5-5-5-15 timings?

    <o:p> </o:p>The ram runs fine in single sticks at 1066 w/5-5-5-15 passing all memtest86 and P95 tests with no trouble with all auto settings except ram voltage (which manufacturer sez it needs to be 2.0-2.1v).

    Please check my current settings below and tell me where I might coax better performance from my system without unduly shortening its lifespan in a 24/7 operating environment.

    im runing a 9550 eo at 475x8.5 -4037. 2x2g mushkin red line 5-5-5-15 2.02 volts 1.1 475mhz.. 200d. pl10 trfc 60 rest auto..you will have to move up the memory mult for ram speed or oc the cpu more.

    mushkin pc8000 2x2 4g gtx260 216 ocz 700w ps.
