    Default error crashed computer

    STOP:C0000218 {Registry File Failure}
    The registry cannot load the hive (file):
    \SystemRoot\System32\Config\SECURITY
    or its log or alternate.
    It is corrupt, absent, or not writable

    I have been looking around and it seems that this is a Gigabyte motherboard with SATA RAID with 4 gigs of ram.I was looking and has any one else had this problem and if yeas HOW DO I FIX IT.I can get only as far as vista load screen and on xp side i can get in to XP then it crashes.HELP!!!!

    Both Windows installations don't work anymore? Did they work fine before? If yes, maybe one of your HDs has a problem.

    Im think you may be right .Yes all ways fine untill this .I moved my sound card to bottom PCI slot to make more room under 2nd graphic card and when i restarted it updated to new PCI slt and windows had a few updates that ran.After all was do i restarted and ERROR.With XP i can get in to it but with in 2-3 mins of restart in crashes no error just restarts.

    I'd try remving the two HDs and installing windows on a new 3rd HD. If the system ist stable then it's probably one of your HDs.

    I can't think of any way right now how to test which drive is faulty, maybe contact WD support about that.

    Back-up any important data though, in case one of the drives is actually faulty!
