Default GA-EP45-UD3P North bridge (System Temperature)

    Hi all,
I am wondering what other people are getting as their system temperature.
My Easy Tune 6 (ET6) is reporting 57 Degrees Celcius under load 54 idle for my system temperature. My Room temp is around 26~28degrees.

My CPU is reporting 62 degrees max under prime95 after at least 30mins of running. Normal operating temperature while doing prime95 is 57 degrees. CPU idle is at 33. My CPU is E6420 (2.13GHz) OC to 3.20GHz (400FSB*8 @ 1.296V).

I just thought that may be a bit on the high side, so I was curious as to what others are getting from their ET6.

    Tools used to read data:
    CPU-Z, CPUID HWMon, ET6.

I dont know alot about that perticular board, but that i think is too hot for the NB. My system Temp is in the 40's and it is pretty hot. I did read around that if you cant hold your fingure on the heatsink for more then 10 seconds then its too hot, if you cant hold it for more then 5 seconds turn it off NOW. lol At those temps Id be thinking its hot to touch, if its not then you may need to reapply the heat sink. Best bet is to get a small 40mm fan or whatever and stick it onto the Heatsink.

The northbridge is allowed to operate at up to 110C or so. My P35 DS3 ran at over 90C (no typo) without problems.

For the CPU up to 70C is perfectly fine when OC'ing as long as it's stable.

    Never had a problem.

People always assume that Nbs and GPUs have the same temperature treshold as a CPU, but they're wrong. NBs and GPUs may get way hotter than CPUs. Just power up Furmark and run GPU-Z to check your video card temperature. It's higher than you expect, but that's perfectly normal.

That sensor for system temp is NOT the NB temp, this board doesnt have a NB temp sensor. If you use a fan you will find that pointing it at the SB will make the "system temps lower" so thats where the sensor is. If its running hot its prob b/c you have a big hot video card near it.

My UD3P system temperature runs at 37C idle.. and 41C under full stress testing. Your temps appear really high to me for this MB.

Does anyone have a list of all the sensors and their locations for the UD3P MB?

That's an interesting point. I will try it out tonight when I get home. My graphics card's (Leadtek 8800GTS 320MB) heatsink do sit directly over the southbridge. And my graphics card operates at 62 degrees idle - so that is a plausible cause. :)
