    Default OC Help EP45-UD3R, Q6600

    I built this system about a month ago and I am trying to get it OCed to 2.8 @ 400x7 min and ideally 3.2 @ 400x8. So far I have the settings below, one frustration is that it will not post with manually set RAM settings. I have run Memtest overnight with no errors. I know that 8 GB of RAM is supposed to make it harder to OC but this seems overly difficult. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Increase MCH Core to 1.3V (= northbridge voltage), this is often needed for 8GB RAM.

    And change this:

    This may fix the problem, report back if it doesn't.

    PS: Am I correct that the RAM works fine when the CPU ist at stock (since you built the computer a month ago)?

    Yea the RAM works with defined settings at stock speed. I'll try the MCH core.

    OK I tried that with no sucess, any more ideas? I updated the current settings in the OP.

    Have you changed the Advanced settings like I wrote?

    Edit2: NVM, I just looked at the template...

    Increase static tRead value for both channel to 12 and report back.

    Edit: Did you manually change them to 8 & 7 or was that written in the template you used?

    OK, I changed it to 12 on both and I'm now booting up fine. I am having a problem with freezing though. Twice the entire computer has frozen with no keyboard/mouse input possible while running Prime95. I have bumped the vcore up to 1.2875(in two steps) and we'll see if that fixes it. Any other suggestions would be helpful.
    Edit: That seems to have fixed it. I have been hammering it with Prime95, streaming internet radio and my browser for the last half hour.


    As soon as that gets fixed I would like to work on bumping up the multiplier and getting that to run stable. What will my main adjustments be for that?

    OK, I am stable at 1.300 Vcore, 400Mhz x 7. I tried bumping the multiplier to 8 which is my goal but had no luck even after raising the Vcore 5 notches. Is there any other adjustments I should be looking at?

    You raised your vcore to 1.35? So what happened? Did you try prime95 and it didn't pass? My Q6600 G0 needs 1.3625 to pass prime95 small fft.

    I raised the vcore to 1.35 and got a blue screen of death starting up. I'm gonna mess with it some more.

    Still getting BSOD at 1.38xxx VCore. Is there any settings other than VCore that I need to be changing or do I just keep bumping the VCore even higher?
