I hope I found what I needed, I'm not planning on testing it though, If anyone has any words of wisdom about the RAIDXpert I'd love to hear them :)

No, I had not looked at any SMART error info, when the drive was not able to do a low level format I did not want to put any time into it.

Does SMART have any facilities to help re-build a RAID 1 array? I would not think it is related because the RAID is being managed by the RAID BIOS and not the disk drive. Or is there some functionality of SMART that I'm unaware of??

I believe Smart just reports Data and info about the disk

There is plenty of apps that can rebuild a RAID, but I think you may need an extra disk. If you need some RAID Programs that can do this let me know. I think I may know some free ones, but most do cost.
