Default Boot problem @ Gigabyte UD5 X 58 while OC'

    Hello Gigabyte users,

I am experiencing boot problems while my board is overclocked.

My CPU is i7 920 2,66 ghz and is running 2,8 ghz.

The problem can be described like this:
When I push the "start" button all lights and the chassis and the fans start, and then they shut down immidiately again. Then 2-3 second after the system boots up just normal.

While my system is running default mode the system boots up immidiately, and do not give me the 3 seconds delay, where the fans and lights starts up first, and then shut down.

Are you guys experiencing this problem and is it common?
Is there something wrong with my board? Can I fixx it myself? Or will it be fixed in BIOS update? (future)

    /Nicolas

That has been fixed in the F6a BIOS (Provided your settings are stable, as incorrect settings or not fully stable settings can also cause this) >>>

Please do read this before you flash as well >>

    Thanks alot.

Is that BIOS you link too a beta bios or is it a true BIOS?
I can't see it myself, cause im new to PC's. Isnt it very easy to install another BIOS?

So the problem I'm describing in #0 is something you all got? :)

    Someone can help?

Is the BIOS not able to download via Gigabyte Update manager?

And is the BIOS beta or TRUE?

Is my problem a common problem for all Gigabyte boards?

#1 Are you sure? I can see you got X48 board, do they got same problems as X58?

F6a is beta, and has been reported to fix MANY issues by many users including the false double/triple boot

Yes, that issue is widely known with several board and BIOS's, they are working to fix it in all of them and I see many reports that F6a fixes it for your board provided your settings are correct

Ya, BIOS flashing is very easy, please read the Guide on how to use Qflash. DO NOT USE @BIOS!

I have a X58 myself (Sorry, yet to update my Signature) and my BIOS's have not had this issue corrected yet, so I for sure do know what you mean exactly.

And again yes that is a Official Beta BIOS, and is fine to use

Have you tried to update your BIOS to the new Beta BIOS?

Does it fix your problem? :)

Wouldn't it be smartest to wait for TRUE BIOS of the beta BIOS :)?

Yes, I have used about 6 Beta BIOS's this past week, and am using F7a in my board right now

My board the issue is not fixed yet, yours is for sure.

Yes, you can wait for final if you like as it is not really a big issue, just annoying at bootup is all

Because they are still working on the BIOS's

I can say it will help yours for sure as I have seen MANY users report F6a for your board fixes the issue (Provided your voltage settings, ect are correct)
