    SBMongoos, I'm still working on 4.2Ghz; it's really wanting alot of vcore for it so I think I might stick to 4.0Ghz. I have not taken the time to attempt to tweak my memory timings, mostly because I'm not exactly sure where to start! But I have achieved a stable 4.0Ghz with only a slight bump to the stock vcore, at 1.2625 in the BIOS. Here are the settings I used:

    So the settings above are stable for 4Ghz? Just checking as I noted you a remark about not know where to set the memory timings but I assume that's for the 4.2 not 4g.

    Getting snow in Denver today. Potential for a big spring snow storm!

    Yes, those settings are stable for 4.0Ghz. My core temps are 49c under load. What I meant about the memory timings is that they are stable for 4.0Ghz, but I think I might be able to lower them a little bit. I just haven't tried it yet.

    Lsd - thanks for offering your help, I saw your reply to my other thread concerning my problems with 4.2Ghz. I will try your suggestions as soon as I get a chance, thank you!

    Man...maybe I'm not patient enough but I've tried the 4 and the 3.83 and under 4 my PC reboots after about 2 minutes of OCCT and locks up after 10 minutes at 3.83.

    When you say 3.83, were you trying my settings as listed in my signature? If so, and you are experiencing some lock-ups I think you need to loosen up memory timings a bit. Also make sure DRAM voltage is set to your memory spec. You can always lower voltage later if you want.

    I believe so. I thought it was "thepieguy" but not sure. I'm using stock RAM settings and voltages (2.2v for this RAM). 3.83 locked up but the 4Ghz settings listed above would reboot only after a minute or so of running OCCT in "normal" mode.

    OK, try this. Should solve the lockup problem and should get you stable. You can tweak timings after you get stable, but you shouldn't notice much difference:

    H20 heater issues here (very $$)so I didn't get my post in. I also had the SMM set to 2.4B which I think was either 1066 or I believe 1022. Issue?

    I don't think the 2.40B strap will cause any difficulty at such a low FSB. Your memory is great at 1022. In the link it was rated at 1150, so running it a little slower will be no problem.
