Default I was hoping to do better

I've had my build running for about a week, just taking small steps as this is my first attempt at overclocking. The best I've been to get is 3.6
ghz(8X450), where I'm at now. For your info, I'm only running one stick of ram as one of them is bad. Stable with IBT,OCCT,and Prime and haven't seen temps over 50c (16C ambient). The vid of my chip is 1.2625, set at 1.33 now. I've been working on booting with FSB of 533 with multi of 7 and have had no luck, took Vcore all waythe to 1.4, will take me into Windows, get to the desktop and freezes, have to clear cmos and start over. Haven't really figurd out the bios template, so I'll probably type everything out if that will help.

E7x00 chips are not FSB monsters, so it's not much suprise that 533FBS won't boot.
You may get higher overclocks by increasing the multi (as well as VCore of course).

Listing all your settings will help...If you don't have a second PC then print the template :)

Dram voltage is 2.2, everything else auto

I have tried taking small steps with different multipliers and FSB, raised Vcore to 1.4 but haven't been able to go any higher.

Try increasing the FSB a little (405 or so), sometimes there are FSBs that jsut don't run as well as other.
Set CPU PLL to 1.555V, auto increases it way too much.

Also try increasing/decreasing CPU Reference by one two two steps each so it's slighly more or slighly less than 63.33% of Termination (63.33% of whatever Termiantion is se to is the stock setting)

You can also try the 2.0B multiplier, sometiems that runs better.

I did what you suggested and it didn't help get me any speed. Tried both 400 and 450 FSB, raised the multi by the .5 with each and can't get stable. Looks like I'm stayin' at 3.6GHz which is what I was goin' run 24/7, just thought it might do more.

What cooler do you have? 7200 is not a great overclocker but if your temps are good you can likely get 3.8 or so with more vcore. 1.2Vtt is for sure to low, I would be trying more attempts with a higher Vtt like 1.25-1.34

Also setting performance enhance on standard will help smooth things out for you for sure

I have the E7400 and a Xigmatek 1283 and bolt thru kit. My temps are excellent. Ambient is 15c-17c,showing 36/31 for core 0/1 now, haven't seen any higher than 50c when running IBT. I got a bad stick of ram and am only running with one right now, which I thought would make the overclock a little easier???? I'll try the vtt, hell I'll try about anything.
Not looking for anything extreme, just thought it might do 4 GHz, but from others I've seen it may not. If it matters I'm using bios F7.
    Thanks

Upped vtt to 1.24 and vcore to 1.41, made it to 3.8. Got to see if it's stable though.
    Thanks for your help.

Sorry about the 7200 comment, just realized that. Nice to see you are getting somewhere now!!

If you run into issue, post back your full settings you are trying that fail and we will see what can be advised
