Question GA-EP45-UD3P BSOD Within Few Minutes After Resuming from Standby S3 Mode

Hi all, running a stock machine and XP x64 and I have noticed that when I put my computer into standby manually (leaving applications open such as photoshop etc) and then I resume the computer I crash BSOD. I am currently running F6 bios version. I am about to update to F7 but I don't see that mentioned in the notes as to a fix. I read on the board of other version of gigabyte motherboards doing this, but not this one specifically. Anyone having a similar issue?

What other hardware do you have? Are you overclocking? Did you change any other BIOS settings? Is the system Prime 95 stable?
BIOS change notes are bad, they never include half of the changes made.
You can also try the new beta BIOS:

Yes, please tell us more. If you are overclocked or not, your full specs, ect.

I do not think they have fixed S3 in the UD3 models yet, but if you are not overclocked you should be fine if your settings are all stable

    Yeah,btw
In your new signature Core i7-920 is an ES chip. Usually ES chips have unlocked multipliers.(C0 or D0 stepping?)

Just had that site open...and we're all on the Gigabyte team anyway, including JZ :)

Also JZ deserves some credit for the online BIOS "screenies", and I always buy my boards from him.

    Hi everyone,

    Here are my specs:
    Gigabyte Ep45-UD3P Motherboard (F7 Bios)
    ToughPower 650 PSU
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9300
    Windows XP x64
    8gb PC2-8500 (DDR2-1066) OCZ Reaper Memory
    500gb Seagate SATA Hard Drive
    20x LG SATA Dvd Burner
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card
    MSI ATI Radeon HD3850 512MB

I am running the system completely stock right now. Still looking for a detailed tutorial on overclocking the system. Everything in the bios is set to stock except that I am running in ACHI mode. I have not run Prime95 as of yet seeing that I am running a stock system. I haven't had any other crashes since the build a few months ago. The only other thing I saw in the bios is that my memory is set to "turbo". After installed f7 bios last night and resetting to optimized defaults its still sets itself to turbo so I assume thats how gigabyte set it up.

What are the advantages of running AHCI?.
I thought it was more to do with raid applications etc?
I tried it n it caused me problems.so i left it.
I also dont mess around with sleepy/standby setups.
I dont feel Im burning out the ozone layer.
However if something has been running happily for months, and there have been no hardware/software changes, maybe its dust?.
I cant believe the amount that finds its way into mine and coats the fan blades.
I have filters on all intakes.
    Clean heatsinks and fans?
On overclocking the q9300 is fairly close to the q8200,whats below in the sig is what i run at most of the time.
You have 4 sticks of ram tho yes? so cant say how settings would work for you.
Theres another similar thread to yours around somewhere...check back thru the previous page or 2.

I have basically the same system and mine will not resume from sleep properly as well. What happens is, after it wakes I select a user it boots and then shows an hourglass or circle for vista for 1-2mins. It will come around though.
