    Default EP45-UD3P 4x 2GB G.Skill DDR2-1066

    Gigabyte EP45-UD3P v1.1
    Q9400 Core 2 Quad
    4x 2GB G.Skill DDR2-1066 PC2-8500 F2-8500CLD5 CL5-5-5-15 2.0~2.1V

Hi, can I get some assistance with the memory settings? I don't really want to overclock, I'll save that fun for later. This memory should? work at 1066 Mhz with the (G)MCH Freq Latch @ 333 and system memory multiplier set to 3.20B. I've set the timings 55515 etc and Dram Voltage to 2.1V. I don't really know enough about the other advanced timing and voltage settings to change them with confidence. Here to learn. Memory currently works fine at 800 MHz with multiplier @ 2.40B.

    Thanks in advance, Ed.

I had the same deal with the UD3P and 8 GB of Patriot RAM. What finally worked for me was lowering the MCH core to 1.050V. I also set the command rate to 2 on the advice of Patriot but I'm not sure that makes a difference. Leave the timings and DRAM voltage exactly as G.Skill specs, set the 3.20B, but try lowering MCH. Hope it helps!

That did the trick. Thanks. After setting to 1.05 I ran Memtest86 with no errors. Strange but I could only boot into Vista64 in safe mode. Otherwise vista would just cut out on loading and reboot the machine. I removed the ATI 4850 driver and this was causing the problem. Reinstalled on next vista load now everything is working as it should (for now).

Yes, no problems so far @ 1066 & 1.05. It follows the thread that collective wisdom isn't always correct.

Yeap, not all hardware is the same always. Nice to hear you are all up and running smoothly!!
