    Default EP-43-DS3L memory config.

Hi, I am new to this forum and i've been reading a lot here. A while ago i built a unit and to be concise Fry's Electronic replaced the memories which were the culprits for my unit was rebooting and freezing, so i got fresh tested sticks. Ok, my son plays the CoH gold edition game and crashes all the time, my brother saids it may be the config. of the memories for he was able to lower his and stop crashing but he could not wrk w/mine. i Have 2GB DDR2 PC8500 Crucial Ballistix cl 5-5-5-15 v2.1 I have tow sets a total of 4GiGs, how do i configure the memory manually? I will appreciate your help for this may stop the game from crashing.
Not doing OC everything is in AUTO.

Go into the BIOS and the M.I.T. menu there. Set DRAM voltage to 2.1V manually. Download and run Prime 95 for several hours to check for stability. If it's not stable you can try to increase the MCH core voltage to 1.26V and try Prime again.
As an alterantive to Prime you can boot up withe the Vista DVD and uses the Windows Memory Diagnostic. Also let that run for a few hours or until you gett errors.

I think it will be better, right? once i am done i will post my results. My windows is healthy, very, is just when CoH is open that it crashes. And i forgot to post my Video card, i listed below. I just hit Edit, now prime95 i found 24.14, 25.8 which one should i download?
    thanks,

hi, I just down loaded Prime95 v259 extract all files and I see the exe file, i've never used this, do I just double click and click on stress test? I would appreciate the help.
I just clicked the stress test but i don't know what i am doing and i don't know if i clicked on the right options sine i 1st saw a dialog box. next i saw something as 4 wrkrs, also did input the DRAM to 2.1. i saw this:

    [Feb 25 20:46] Worker starting
[Feb 25 20:46] Setting affinity to run worker on logical CPU #0
[Feb 25 20:46] Beginning a continuous self-test to check your computer.
[Feb 25 20:46] Please read stress.txt. Choose Test/Stop to end this test.
    [Feb 25 20:46] Test 1, 4000 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M19922945 using FFT length 1024K.
[Feb 25 20:46] FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4992675781, expected less than 0.4
[Feb 25 20:46] Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
    [Feb 25 20:46] Torture Test ran 0 minutes - 1 errors, 0 warnings.
    [Feb 25 20:46] Worker stopped.
This is wrkr#1 and i stopped it cause I did not know what i was doing, but could you please tell me anything by looking at this?

    thanks

Sounds like that ended way to quick, I would increase the vcore and try again.

Yeah, you ran it right I think? Blend should be checked when that dialog comes up then just click OK

nice to see u helping me too LSDmeasap, when u said increase the vcore, do you mean the MCH core voltage? to 1.26 as Nickle020 stated? if i will try today and run it again, and yes i saw the blend. again, i am not OCing i just don't want to see this machine crashing while gaming, do u think is the memory config? as i said frys did an extensive test (all hrdwr) till they got the culprit and replaced my 4 sticks since i bought everything there.
    thanks

Thanks for the kind words, sorry I had not replied on this thread sooner but I just got back from a long absence trying to finish some product reviews

    Vcore is CPU Voltages.

    MCH Voltage is Northbridge Voltage

If you are not overclocking, but you do have 4x1GB you may still need to adjust some things.

Since you are not overclocking Vcore in Auto should be fine for you, but you may need to raise MCH Voltage and you may also need to adjust a few memory settings from Auto.

For sure you should start with Performance enhance set to standard, and set your Memory voltage to 2.1, and then set MCH Voltage to maybe 1.20-1.24

If you keep having issues then please give me your full exact settings you are using that fail and I will advise back

Lsdmeasap, on the memories I have 2 sets or (2X1GB) total of 4 stick which makes my 4GiGs, don't want to confuse you. I will still those changes you stated and give what i have on the form. I just hit edit and filled out the form, there a few things I didn't see in my Bios, hope is clear.
    thanks
