    Exclamation Question EP45-UD3P + Q9550 OC to 4Ghz Black Screen

    Hi everyone I have my CPU at 3.6Ghz currently and after many tests i am stable. I want to try and get 4Ghz if possible. I have read many threads of people reaching 4Ghz and running it 24/7 after tests. I am still somewhat confused on the settings and have not had any successful boots in Windows trying 4Ghz. Thanks looking forward to hearing from you guys.

    Ok so after tweaking in the BIOS i finally got in windows, YAY!! but now when i try to run prime95 i get the blue screen of death, lol

    I dont know what im doing wrong, help please

    No help here Im afraid I cant get above 3.57,probably because of the ram,also my max cpu multiplier is much lower .
    I see your at 5-5-5-15 at 1.82v
    Have you had the ram running stable at around that speed(with cpu running slower)(using the lower cpu multiplier?).
    What are your temperatures reading when u get into windows before u try prime 95?

    Ok, Try this and see if it helps you out any. I also do suggest for now you put those Ref voltages all on Auto until you get going, then you can tune them if you like.

    Have you ran memtest86+ to see if your ram is stable? You should do that before you try to pass Prime95, so you know if it is your CPU or other settings that cause it to fail, or your ram.

    Ok This is what I had in The Bios as the settings and when i got in windows i checked CPUZ and it showed 1.3 volts, but under 100% load 1.264, and prime95 failed in 30 seconds and my system froze. My temps are ok i think, 55 50 53 50 but it did fail very early so that was probably not the true temp.

    Then i tried memtest86+ and it showed unexpected interrupt Pass 31%
    So at this point im thinking the Ram is having problems but im not sure.

    Sounds to me like you for sure need some more vcore!!

    I will get back to you about all your settings tonight when I get in as I am about to head into town. Thanks for the memory link, it will help me advise you.

    Good luck with things until then

    More Vcore, or enable LLC or both and you may need the full 2.1V on your ram so you may need to set 2.1 or 2.12, check in PC Health section after you change the setting and reboot to see what you are getting for what you set

    Well after many trys with higher vcore at 3.625 and LLC enabled still no luck. I also changed the ram to 2.12V in bios and in PC Health section ram volts were 2.096 and cpu was 3.48 at those settings. Also in windows CPUZ shows 1.328 not underload because computer will freeze when its under load.

    Well 1.328 at idle may not be enough under load, so you may need to raise that more still. Try setting it to 1.35-1.38, you can lower it later

    Does the above pass Memtest86+ 4-5 full passes, you need to do that to be sure if it is not a ram issue or not >>>

    If your ram is failing, you may need 2.15-2.2. I see some reviews saying they would not do 1066 even with 2.3, so you may need 2.15-2.2 to do 950.
