    Interesting.

I think I have noticed something similar, where a device did not work correctly in the front case jack but was ok in the rear, MB jack, and other devices worked fine in front. I chalked it up to a flakey cable, etc, or a floating ground or ground loop.

Just bought this board also, and have had no problems so far, except I can not seem to get audio out of both the HDMI and SPDIF at the same time, nor find an easy way to switch between without reboot. Running XP. Any luck out there.... Thanks

I'm sure that this is intended or limited by hardware.

I am going into the bios and manually changing the settings that gksill recommends, and the bios says 1066, but when i got into sisoftware sandra it displays as 800. Am I doing something wrong here?

Another question I have is what settings can you guys recommend so that I can overclock this thing to 3ghz I have a good fan on it right now( didnt even touch the stock hs) its a AC Freezer 64 Pro w AS 5.

    Thanks
The cpu you have is the black edition and it has a multiplier which is not locked.
I have the same cpu as yourself and the same cooler and motherboard.
All you need to do for a quick overclock is to raise the multiplier from the standard 13.5 to 14 or 14.5 bor even 15.
My system is running at just over 3ghz with no problems at all.

I ordered it Friday, with a lot of other stuff to go with it. I hope I don't have to wait long till I receive it

@ ragenrat, why would you put such a ridiculous amount of DVD drives in a computer? :P planning on watching 2 movies, burning a disc, playing a game at once? :P.

I'd fill up those 5,25" bays with harddisks mate :P

and that's exactly what I'm going to do with my board. 3x 500GB WD and 1x 1TB Samsung spinpoint. The purpose of the machine is to be able to play 1080p h264 fluently. and in the future I'm planning on equipping it with a blu ray drive so that shouldn't be a problem either I hope...

It will run with 4GB and an AMD Athlon X2 5050e. I chose this cpu because it low TDP. Because it's supposed to be a HTPC, it has to be quiet. So I'm planning on letting just doing one 92mm fan, and the fan of the psu doing all the cooling work while I'm equipping the CPU with a scythe ninja mini (I'm limited in space so I had to chose a small but effective passive cooled cpu cooler).

I will post pictures if the whole thing has been put together, it's going to be sweet
It's going to use Windows XP 32bit (don't care about the memory loss of the 4GB, was planning on putting only 2 GB in it, but maybe if Windows 7 satisfies me I will need the 4 gigs). Media will be presented with xbmc and aeon stark (theme) that comes out tomorrow :D
    Hello guys,

I am from France and I would like to upgrade my old pc and use it as a HTPC. I have planned to buy this motherboard with a Atlhon X2 5050e and 2go RAM 8500. Do you think this set is ok for this use? Is is possible to plug (in the future), a Blue ray drive.

In fact I do hestitate with this: Asus P5N7A-VM with intel E5200 even if I always have AMD proc.

BLAIZER you have the same config, could you please give a feedback

Thanks to all and sorry for my poor english

I do not see the 5050e in the supported CPU list, so you may want to think about a lesser CPU if you plan to get this board >>

ducati64 an AM2 5050e Brisbane will not support pc2-8500. You will want a AM2+ Phenom, or Kuma. They have the memory controller to support 1066Mhz memory.

    hey guys,
Not sure if anyone still comes here or not. I just bought this board and am expecting it later this week. I bought this board, AMD Phenom II 550 BE and Cooler Master Storm Scout case. Just wondering how i would update the motherboard to use this CPU since it says on the support list that this board supports the AMD Phenom II 550 with BIOS version F3A and im sure the board will only have the original BIOS. Not sure if that made any sense lol. Any helps would be great

    Cheers

You can go to this url page and scroll down to it. It will have the ga-ma780g-ud3h_f3a.exe bios you can choose. The Asia(China) site is good it will download quicker. GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS Download
Use Qflash Here is a great tutorial on how to from Lsdmeasap ----> http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/bios...h-guide-27576/
