You don't need, and won't get your best performance at 1:1 (sorry I wasn't clear).

And that's fine, I will run at whatever ratio as long as it works, and since 1:1 wont boot anyway, it looks like I have to use another ratio.

And since I can't lower it below 2.40b/d then it will have to run at whatever it falls at depending on fsb and multiplier.

Thank you so much for your help and reply. I have put my settings in your quote above. Please see the notes I made denoted with * above.

As I mentioned above in the notes, right now now I am running at 9x467 with ram at 1121 and I ran prime stable for about 2 hrs and gamed a bit but it locked up a couple of times and rebooted. It would probably run prime stable for a long time, but have been just trying everything and 2 hrs is the longest I have tested for.

My goal is 4.2Ghz and will accept any ratio that works, but would like 1:1, but am told I won't get the best performance at 1:1. I don't like running how I have it set now at 9x467 with ram at 1121. Ram is too high. I would like to get either 1:1 or as close to 1066 as possible, but again, whatever works.

Here is a link to my ram, is this what you were asking for? http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/T...48-8500C5D.pdf

In a perfect world, I would like to get 4.2Ghz with 9.5 multiplier and ram at 1:1 884, but as I said, whatever works. If you read my other threads, you saw that I've had nothing but problems. I can't figure out why this board will NOT let me run my ram at 1:1 except at stock speeds. Any attempts at cpu overclock with ram at 1:1 will either not boot or bsod.

But please understand I don't need 1:1 if it's not going to be the best performance or is unstable. I always thought 1:! was supposed to be best ratio, but a lot of people say run it as fast as possible, and if that will give me better performance than 1:1, I'm all for it. That ET bulit in OC that will run prime stable for days, puts my ram at 1080 with 2.40B and it's pretty fast, but can go faster. And I don't mind my ram running at that speed, after all it's not much higher than 1066.

Thanks so much for your time and your help, I rally appreciate it!!!

You can try to set the static tRead Value to 10-12, the BIOS often sets this to values that won't work when you're trying higher overclocks. Also download Memset form tweakers.fr and post a screenshot of that. Performance Level is the same as static tRead value in there.
I would also set CPU Termination to 1.2-1.3V and CPU PLL to 1.55-1.65V, AUTO increases them too much when you're overclocking.

Also, it doesn't matter much what RAM multiplier you use, look at the link in my signature :)

Thanks for the reply. I will try the settings you suggest. Question: Are the number you give for my current OC of 9x467 or......? Because I will not run this OC very long, just trying different things. I wish I had numbers for 442x9.5 but that multiplier sets my ram way too high.

And yes, the multi doesn't matter I'm starting to hear more and more, but see the problem is I can't lower it to 2.00B or D, it just won't boot at any cpu speed except stock. So until somone can tell me how to get it to boot below 2.40, I'm stuck running the ram at 1121 with 9x467. Why won't this board let me run at 1:1? I just don't get it. Should I be running another bios besides F6?

    Thanks for your help.

Those numbers might make your RAM run at 2.0D at 442x9.5. Static tRead on Auto is often a reason why certain memory multipliers don't work.

You could try BIOS F8. My UD3P came with F7, so I don't know whether F6 was worse than that

    Marc, You need to take the MCH Frequency Latch off Auto. Set it to 333Mhz. and use the 2.40 multi. (so... your 442 Bus Speed x 2.40B = 1060) 4:5 - FSB:DRAM) & 442 X 9.5 = 4200Mhz CPU

    See for yourself.

Sorry, setting the cpu termination and pll to the settings you suggest results in no post and bios resets itself to stock.

    Thanks again,
