    Default GA-EP43-S3L Freezing

I bought a brand new pc a month ago and from the start i've been having problems with it. Every once in a while the PC freezes mostly in games and when it happens I have to restart it on the button. It's completely random, sometimes i can play for hours and sometimes it happens in 15 minutes. I updated all drivers, bios is the latest, ran 8 passes through memtest without a single error, tried to up voltages acording to advices to other people having problem with this mb but still nothing, it's driving me crazy here....
The pc isn't overlocked and I don't intent to overclock it. Also i'm not much of a hardware wiz here so keep it rather simple ^^

Sorry for the late reply here, but since you bumped your thread it moved it to the back of my replying efforts because I answer all new posts each day (Well try to anyway) and I start at the back and work my way forward. So when you bump you move your thread back to the front which is the back for me when I am replying

Anyhow, Lets see if I can help.

Are you using Memtest86+ when you mention Memtest? If not, please do, and be sure you are using the latest version (2.11 Now I think) >>
Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

Can you link me to your ram kits, or give me the model #'s. This may be part of your issue if they do not match it can cause issues. If it is a single 2GB stick and then a single 1GB stick you may always have issues, best to get matching sets.

You did load optimized defaults when you first setup things right? If not, you need to do that first. Load optimized defaults and set ONLY your ram voltage and then save/apply/reboot F10 BACK to the BIOS. You MUST Go back to the BIOS so you can set your SATA/Disk settings all again before you load windows. After that, then you can set everything else again and then try the settings I suggest below. Do not skip doing this if you did not load optimized before because you HAVE to for your CPU as many hidden settings will not be set properly if you do/did not.

What BIOS are you using by the way? Latest is F8 >>>
    GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS Download

If you do plan to update your BIOS, please read this and do not use @BIOS >>>
    http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/bios...h-guide-27576/

But... Lets see about your settings. Try this and see if you have any better luck

    *EDIT*
Sorry I need more info from you before I can advise really

Sorry for the bumping, didn't know about your reading habbits :). First of all thanks for answering, I'll try to provide all the info you asked for. When I mentioned memtest, yes I ment memtest86+. About the bios, yes it's f8. When I bought the pc it came with windows and all drivers installed, I only updated a few of them which were slightly outdated: chipset, directx, graphics, bios however was f8, the newest, and I doubt the folks at the pc store installed it improperly. About the memory, I really don't know what's the serial and/or module number on the module stickers so I'll write all there is on the sticker.
Module 1 (in slot 2 on mb, 2gb): Kingston KVR
    KVR800D2N6/2g
    1.8v
    BCMS19C0870
Module 2 (in slot 4 on mb, 1gb): Kingston KVR
    99U6429-003.a00LF
    3984375-0988455
    KVR800D2N6/1G
    1.8V
    ----------------------------------
    Here's a SS from memset: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/4337/memtestt.jpg
Also the info that's missing from bios:
    Advanced Timing Control

    tRRD 3 AUTO
    tWTR 3 AUTO
    tWR 6 AUTO
    tRFC 52 AUTO
    tRTP 3 AUTO
    Command rate(CMD) 0 AUTO

There are also channel a timing settings and channel b timing settings but there's alot of data to write, so if you need it i'll put that up too.
I think that's all you asked for, if you need anything else just say so i'll try and find it

, no need to be sorry I was not upset. Just wanted to let you know how my reading/replying habits worked.

Ya never know about how the people at PC Places install things, sometimes it is kids in a hurry.

Ya, I would like to know at least these on those other pages you mention, but you dont need to give me them until later, I will just advise you now what you should use. So skip to me settings, and ignore the babbled settings below here All the settings I leave out here should be on Auto, but these I do mention you would want to set >>

    Driving Strength Profiles
    Driving Strength ............................

    Channel A + B
    Static tRead Value.........................:

Thanks for the images and Ram model #'s, just what I needed.

    You have CAS 6 Ram (666-18) 1.8V +/- .1V

So these settings and see if you have any better luck

    MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
Robust Graphics Booster ...............: AUTO or Fast
    CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 10X
    Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................:.0.5
    CPU Frequency ...........................:2.8GHz (266x10.5)

    Clock Chip Control
    Standard Clock Control
    CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Disabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 266
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........:100
    C.I.A.2 .................................:[Disabled]

    DRAM Performance Control
    Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
    (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [Auto]
    System Memory Multiplier ..............: 3.00A
    Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 800
    DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

    Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency Time........................6
    tRCD .........................................6
    tRP'...........................................6
    tRAS..........................................18

Set all below to the higher value for now, then later lower one at a time testing as you go, in this order (tRD {Static tRead Value}, tRRD, tRFC, tRTP, tWTR, tWR

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD 3 AUTO << Set 3-4
    tWTR 3 AUTO << Set 3-6
    tWR 6 AUTO << Set 4-8
tRFC 52 AUTO << Set 52-62 (This may be your only issue aside from tRD (Static tRead) try setting only this first and see if it helps any. I would set 58 and see how that is, then you can try higher/lower). If this alone does not help, try this with tRD change to 7-8 and see if that helps. If so, then you know the issue and you can set the rest or not

    tRTP 3 AUTO << Set 3-5
    Command rate(CMD) << Set 2
