    Default GA-945GCM-S2L - Graphics problem

I have installed a HD 4830 onto the board, but from time to time the motherobard switches to onboard VGA even though apprently I have disabled it? I'm using F8b firmware (as the website lists that only the beta is compatible with my CPU, a E7500.)

edit: may i just add the BIOS doesn't actually have a setting to turn off onboard vga, doesn't even say it in the manual.

you get a choice of either
    - PCI
    - Onboard/PCE

I see in your manual you can set the onboard GFX to disable when PCIE Card is installed, here in Integrated Peripherals BIOS page, as you mentioned I think >>>

    Init Display First

Specifies the first initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card, PCI Express graphics card, or the onboard VGA.

PCI Sets the PCI graphics card as the first display. (Default)

Onboard/PEG Sets the PCI Express as the first display. When a PCI Express card is installed, automatically output from the PCI Express card and disable the onboard VGA. Enable output from the onboard VGA when no PCI Express card is installed.
What PSU do you have? Just wondering if maybe it is not strong enough for your card is maybe why it switches? How can you tell it switches anyway? And what do you have that set to above, you should set it to Onboard/PEG

    I have a Hiper 500W PSU.

I know it switches because nothing is displayed on my monitor, but I change the cable from dvi to vga on the onboard graphcs, bam, the video comes up.

Ahhh! Nice to see you got it all fixed up!

Be sure you set that setting I mentioned above to Onboard/PEG
