Default GA 965 DQ6 cpu support

    Hi all,

Does anyone have an E8xxx or Q8xxx cpu running on a GA 965 DQ6 Rev.1 m/b as I am a bit confused as to what it says on the Gigabyte Cpu Support page. Their is an F13a bios that says it supports Q8300 at 1066 fsb if I read that correctly, so if I have 800mhz ram would it still work.

    Any help would be appreciated

Yeap, you can use 677-1066+ memory on the board. What that means is the stock CPU FSB of those CPU's is 1066 is all

    Thanks for the replies,

I found the information I was looking for from a link provided from a thread at whirlpool, hope this can help other people searching for 45nm support.

Ahh, thanks for posting. I did not know you was asking about 45nm support, I thought you was just confused about the FSB Speeds and memory speeds

No worries, when I read the post now I see I didn't refer to 45nm support so can see how my question is misunderstood. Where I wrote about the 800mhz part I was not sure if Gigabyte meant that the cpu (q8300) that they tested would only run at 1066mhz but reading your replies that has cleared that up for me.
    Thank You
