Thread: 4ghz, UD3R and Team Xtreeme Dark 2x2GB DDR1066

Just confirm then, both overclocks are 100% Stable. I now want to work on getting RAM overclocked same time as CPU. The 7.5 multi is really hard to do and I cant seem to get past 430 FSB on the B Strap. Seems quite unusual compared to other peoples results.. Any suggestions?

Excuse me, we are going to choose as reference 3.83 Ghz.
Go to Gigabyte's website and get the lastes bios and flast it.
Be sure to clear the bios (is important) if you are not sure go and unplug the power cord, open the case and shortcut the two pins.
    Set this values:
    1-CPU Clock Ratio .......................: [ 9]
    2-CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 333 Mhz
    3-C2/C2E State Support...................: [Disabled]
    4-CPU EIST Function......................: [Disabled]
Reboot once you get inside the bios be sure the cpu is running at his native speed by pressing the key "F9" it will pop up a new window.

    Next:
    DRAM Performance Control
    Performance Enhance....................: [STANDARD]
    Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.)........: [Disabled]
    (G)MCH Frequency Latch.................: 333 Mhz
    System Memory Multiplier ..............: 2.40B
    Memory Frequency (Mhz) ................:
    DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

    Standard Timing Control
    CAS Latency Time.......................: 5
    tRCD ..................................: 5
    tRP'...................................: 5
    tRAS...................................: 15
Be sure that this values are set up
    *No more, reboot*

The cpu must continue running at 3.0 Ghz, press "F9"
    Go and find:
    Driving Strength Profiles
    Driving Strength ......................: 1066
    Set this value.
    *No more, reboot*
Verify that the cpu continue running at his native speed. "F9"

    Next:
    Start for rising the:
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 333 Mhz
intil you reach the 400 Mhz
    *No more*
20 by 20 steps, each time reboot and veryfied if s running at the correct value.

    Next:
    Set this values:CPU Vcore...............1.25000V.......: 1.33750V
    CPU Termination.........1.200V.........: 1.320V

    MCH/ICH
    MCH Core................1.100V.........: 1.2V
    *No more, reboot*

    Next:
Set this:CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 417 Mhz
    *No more, reboot*
If you have done the things the way I said you, The cpu must be running at 3.75 Ghz and the memory at +/- DDR500 (If I don't make a mistake )
If the system is not stable rise "one" step the cpu voltage core.
    *No more, reboot*

Make a stability test to see how stabe the sistem is, please don't set nothing else, because I am not in front of your computer. This is the only way to now what is happining. Report me.
    Good luck

    Thanks Mate.

I already have a stable system using the 2.40B strap, but the problem is I cant go beyond 430FSB on this strap. I am already using the latest F9 bios and did clear CMOS Afterwards :)

My stable settings are as below.. I just wondered if there was any advice how I could get my Ram around 1100mhz and CPU 4ghz+. At the moment I can do Ram at 900mhz and 4GHZ and Ram at 1022(below) and CPU at 3.83! But not both overclocking RAM and CPU At same time!

Please the first step is to do what I told you to do, after we would continue. So go and reset the bios in a good way and after do step by step. Don do nothing else, I just stop here, is the same thing when you decide to climb the everest, you can not go up at once you have some step to go thru before you scream Eureka!!

This is exactly the same result as my 3.83 config! What can I do now to get RAM over 1066 and CPU over 4ghz?

    EDIT

Also I find sometimes after my PC is left on for a period of time, rebooting the machine will cause it not to boot up with the same settings as before. It resets back to stock settings after turning on/off about 5 times. I had this with My X38 board as well. Is this a power issue? Why does it do this?

Let make a deal this time you make exactly as I told you after you do it the way you want, there are some things that are set and others that not, just check it.If you follow step by step maybe we reach 4.0Ghz!!Please stop in 417 FSB and rise the memory voltage to 2.0V. No this is not power issue is only a bad overclocking. If the cpu voltage is to low rise it one step at the time, this is the only value you can change for the moment. Clear the bios, please, unplug the powercord, shortcut the two pin for about ten sec. and start again.

I gave you the order, the way you have to proceed this is very important it would take time, but answere me how long have you been trying to adjust your system? How more can you loose compare to the other ones? Clear the bios, step by step as I said you, nothing else.I can't answere you today but tomorrow I do so, if I have report. At this point the system, I think will be stable, maybe adjust as I said the CPU Voltage step by step. Don't work at all? Down the FSB to 400 "The best way to succeed is to stat again."

B strap may not work at that FSB unless you add some more MCH and Ram Voltage and drop your Vtt possibly. You should not need 1.3 for under 4Ghz, this controls MCH Ref so using a high value puts MCH Ref pretty high.

Just my thoughts, let me know if you need help with things. I should be caught up around here in a few days and I can help if you do not get anywhere
