    Hi,
Hope your weekend was good as well :)
So you're running at 4.15GHz which is quite high for stock cooler. Please check your temperatures under 100% load. Try to keep under 70 C for longer CPU life.
You could try to decrease CPU clock ratio to lets say 8 and increase FSB to 450 +,
but I would go for lower FSB in order to use 3.20b multi and would lower the memory latencies and especially tRD and tRFC to have better bandwidth despite the lower frequency.
Once again to see there you stand post your BIOS settings using this template -
ignore my values and fill them with yours.
This way many people could help you right away.

here are my settings @415 mhz. i havent had time yet to put them in manually. i am going to follow memsets values to set the timings manually . i have a noctua nh-c12p cooler and the temp of the cpu was @ 42 degrees c under load which seems quite good . i am aiming to get to 4500 mhz core speed stable for the moment and will then see if i can use that 24/7. will let you know how i get on . thanking you for your help

have managed to get the memory running at 920mhz . with an fsb of 460 x 8.5. did this very quickly for fun without any testing but vista did boot . i now need to try tightening the timings and reducing the voltages to see how far down they will go while still running stable .

    that is 920mhz x 2 = 1840 mhz (i think)

No, that is only 920Mhz ram speed.

Ram speed is FSB X Memory Multi = Ram freq

    So 460 FSB X 2.00x = 960Mhz

Unless you was using a 4.00 Memory multi, then you are correct and if so then you can ignore my thinking outloud

If you would like some help with your settings please give me a link to your ram or give me the model # and then fill this out with the exact settings you are trying that fail and I will advise back >>>

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

thank you for your help . i was using a 4x multi and have now got to my goal of 4500 mhx core speed but with loose timings and 1.48 voltage . am going to keep tweaking to bring the voltage down and improve the timings .i am using 2 sticks of 2gb each g.skill f3-14400cl8-2gbgt1 giving me 4 gb memory. it seems strange that the new f6c immediately cured all my oc,ing problems .temps at 4500mhz seem stable @ 45-50 degrees depending on load. thank you again .

Ahh, OK, well sorry about my comment then. Wow, 4.5Ghz eh That's good!

So you all ok now, except for your tweaking to be done? If so great, and good luck with your tweaking!

If you need any help feel free to let us know

as you noticed in my first post i am completely new to this but having fun . still dont understand why there is such a radical difference between bios f6c and all the others i tried (f4, f5, f6a and f6b) also is there an easy way of putting my cpuz, and menset into files so that i can post them here ? (i know . duhhhhhh) (neep)... but we all have to learn sometime i suppose. thanking you for your help

You will learn how things work, just takes some getting used to.

Well, F6c is a Beta. If you liked the others you mention then you may want to go back to one of those until a newer Beta or final is out.

You mean pics of CPU-z and Memset? If so, all you need to do is upload them to a image host and post the direct URL to them here in img tags here in your post. This is a img tag >>>

[img] Direct URL Of Image Here [/img]

Here is a Free Image host I use, of course there are many others (Imageshack, Photobucket, ect) >>>
TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

After you upload your image you just copy the last URL in the box labeled "Direct Link for Layouts" and then place that in a img tag as shown above
