    Default GA-P35-DS4, more than 2 HD's?

I am trying to add a third HD to my GA-P35-DS4 and having some problems. Any feedback welcome. I have my first two HD's plugged into the Purple SATA connectors (gigabyte) and the SATA DVD drive plugged into the first ICH9R port. Both are configured for AHCI mode.

    Has been working fine.

I tried to add an additional SATA drive to one of the ICH9R ports and when I boot up, just after POST I get an error message, something about can't find or invalid OS.

Is there any thing I need to know about how these drives should be plugged in. Does it matter which port the boot drive is on?

Windows is trying to boot from the disk you just installed (without system so the message).
The best should be to have all disk drives on Intel ports and leaving the Gigabyte (slowest ones) for the DVD.
Anyway, at boot time press F12 and point to the disk system you have now on purple ports.
