    I'm having trouble getting a stable overclock at 3.7 G with the following settings:
    Q6600 @ 3.7GHz + GA-EP45T-EXTREME + Patriot Viper 1333MHz <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

    The computer boots up ok into windows but fails the sandra processor arithmetic test then reboots.

    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    What sort of cooling are you using? rest of system specs?
    Is 1.5v a bit high for Q6600?
    Sandra tests arent that much of a stability guideline compared to prime 95/memtest etc.
    I mean I can run sandra tests on my pc at "unstable" settings.
    What settings have you been at with say memtest doing a couple of passes ,then running ,maybe prime 95 for an hr at least.
    What temperatures do your components get up to?

    Please give your RAM's part #.
    Is it PVS34G1333LLK PC3-10666 Low Latency (1333MHz) 7-7-7-20 @ 1.7V
    or PVS34G1333ELK PC3-10666 Ehnanced Latency (1333MHz) 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5V
    (Pushing it to 6-6-6-16 and working suggests the first one, ... or is it?)
    Maybe it's time to change memory multiplier to 3 (B or D) and relax the latencies.
    Also what is your Static tRead Value on Auto?

    Remember, V.Droop exists, Q6600 at 3.7Ghz with only 1.46v at Windows and getting stable is a miracle to me.

    Thanks for the feedback guys,

    AHPD, I'll try a little higher on on CPU Vcore. What would you suggest?

    Comers, Ive got the low latency (1333MHz) 7-7-7-20 @ 1.7V. Static tRead Value on Auto is 5.

    kick, Its on Air, Coolermaster V8, temps are 43C to around 70C fully loaded.
    I'm looking for stable OC settings for 3.7G.

    AT 3.6G I can get the thing to OC the FSB up to 1800 and the Memory to 1500MHz.

    But at 3.7g its lucky to get to 1640 FSB and the Memory to 822MHz.

    Any Ideas for a stable 3.7 G OC.

    What does cpu-z show the cpu voltage a when running/idle then load?
    What does the memory voltage drop to?

    I get no "action" over 440-460 fsb when using the D multiplier ,but thats just me running(1:1) and I have ddr2.

    I'm curious what is your memory bandwidth with 2.00D and 3.33D multi.
    Could you check with Everest (memory benchmarks) and post the results.
    I'm thinking maybe 3.33D with tRD=8 will be better.

    Also these Advanced Timing Control values are probably different:

    The Memory Benchmarks for the 2.00D Multi were 7711 MB/s Int Memory Bandwidth and 7730MB/s Float Memory Bandwidth.

    The Benchmarks for the 3.22D Multi were 8385 MB/s Int Memory Bandwidth and 8395 MB/s Float Memory Bandwidth.

    So yes the 3.22D Multi with the tRD=8 was better.

    I've managed to get to 3.8G with the above settings but the CPU Vcore is now at 1.504 (CPU-Z) which is as high as I would like to take it. Have I hit the wall or could I run the CPU Vcore lower by Changing the CPU Termination and or CPU PLL Voltages.

    If this is as far as I can go could you suggest any ram timings for this 3.8G setting.
