    Default overclock settigs

can anybody give me overclock settings for my system that are stable

    this is my first build

i just want to overclock enough so it runs my memory at 1600 and not 1066.

    core i7 920
    gigabyte ud5
    cooler master v10
    (g-skill 3x2 6gb 1600 9,9,9,24
    antec 1200 7-120 fans
    sapphire 4870
    coolmax 1200
    wd 1t drive
    sound blaster

can i just change the settings in easytune 6 that came with the mother board?

everything is set at factory settings right now

Its a generally good idea not to use software overclocking programs as it can cause drama. Im sure there is some easy setting to do that will get you were you wanna be. I dont know enough about the X58 stuff yet but im sure someone with more knowleadge will chime in sooner or later.

You do not need to overclock your CPU at all to run your ram at 1600. So I need to know if you DO want a overclocked CPU settings, and if so to what speed

To make your ram run at 1600 all you need to do is find and set a stable QPI Voltage, choose a ram multiplier that is equal or close to 1600, then set uncore to 2x memory multiplier used, set QPI Link multi to x36 and set your ram voltage

So for example if you ae running stock CPU Speed you would be looking at Blck of 133 x 12 Memory multi to run 1600 Ram speed, Uncore would need to be x24, and QPI Voltage may need to be 1.175-1.35+
