    Default Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3HP Problem

Im trying to install windows xp professional 64 bit on my computer and i understand that it doesnt see my sata2 drive. Ive downloaded the file for the 64 bit sata from the Gigabyte web site but when i install it i get a message "missing textsetup.exe file". Where can i get a download that includes this file so i can complete my installation?

You are extracting the driver from the EXE right? This is a XP Install disk with SP1 at least correct? If not, you will need to obtain one as XP will not install on a PCIE machine Pre-SP1

And you downloaded the correct package right, if you are not sure here it is >>>
    ftp://download.gigabyte.ru/driver/mo...isk_m7x_xp.exe

The Txtsetup.oem is the file I assume it is looking for, and it is included as you see here >>>

You may also want to look at this method noted by a user here, not sure if this applies to AMD or not >>

Intel ICH10R Sata AHCI Controller does not work as a RAID controller. I was selecting the wrong driver set. It should have been the ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO Sata Raid Controller. (note to self - read more closely) I also learned that if Setup cannot copy the driver files off of the floppy, you need to COPY all the files on the floppy into a sub-directory named A:\$OEM$\TEXTMODE\ (which you have to create)

I figured out the problem. I added 2 more gb of pc1066 into the 2nd channel while i was upgrading. The motherboard will only run at 1066 if the memory is in the first channel only.If you put memory into the 2nd channel as well, the speed has to be reduced to 800.After i did this, the xp pro 64 installed perfectly.

I need to keep that in mind for AMD, is most systems like that for AMD Setups?

It appears for Gigabyte motherboards that they are.
