    Default Ep45-Ud3R + Q9650 Trying for 3.6 Stable

    Hi guys/gals!

    Recently, I just purchased some new/used hardware. I would like some advice on settings that I should apply for a stable 3.6GHz oc. I would like to stay at this speed for now and then oc further as required in the future. Will be sticking with this build for quite a while. (Went from a 333mhz celeron to athlon64 3200+ and now to this.... so I tend to hold on as long as i can :P)

    These are settings that I'm proposing before I apply them to see if you guys agree or can improve upon. I've done some reading but I haven't oc'd before so I'm just looking for some reassurance I guess.

    I just inputted those settings into bios and restarted right now and I'm seeing that cpuz is displaying my memory as follows. My goal is to get my memory running at 1:1 with the fsb and as close to my rated 1000MHz ram speed as possible. This Bios is really confusing for me so I would greatly appreciate it if someone could shed some light on why my ram displays 500MHz in cpuz while it says 1000MHz and command rate 1T in Bios. :s

    500MHz in CPU-Z means 1000MHz in real ... (double data rate)

    you should now try some stability tests

    I'm running Prime95 for temp results under full load and the results are quite high @_@!

    Core temps taken over 5 mins and averaged. I just built the system today so maybe I should let the AS5 burn in for a night before trying to prime it again? These temps are making me queezy. :x

    I think your temps are fine

    I'm currently priming my pc, and my cores loaded 75c/75c/72c/72c after 7 hours and still going. using Q9550@4.03GHz 1.30v w/ Zalman 9500

    But I realy doubt in this temps as the CPU heatsink is not hot to touch, Also ET6 reads same temp, so I think maybe temps reported are not 100% correctly and I also read that 45N Quad doesn't give accurate temps something related to DTS ... anyway if you hitted the max temp, the cpu should shutdown itself

    Prime95 failed my 3rd core after 8:52hrs. I've noticed there's a big difference between bios level voltages and windows (cpuz) levels
    Temps have stabilized a lot better and were full load @ 64Ί. Going to try with following voltage settings and see if the system is stable.

    CPUz is showing a vcore of 1.200V and still says my memory command rate is at 2T. Anyone know how to set it to 1T?

    edit - When I was running Prime95 last night I had left the LLC off and noticed a vdroop of 0.048V. Prime is now running with the voltages noted below and this time I've enabled LLC and it's at a constant 1.20V
    Although my temps are creeping back up again. ~66Ί

    well you can see in my sig what voltages I need for 500mhz (1:1) stable,the components are different tho.
    Max temps (on 4 different utilities) go 64-66(load)41-43(idle) with case on case off a couple of degrees less.
    I use the 2:00 B memory multiplier and turbo performance engaged.The turbo performance doesnt matter that much as u can vary the memory to that setting in bios,its just handy.
    I dont know if there is a 7 multiplier on your cpu,but if there is and you can go x 7.5 ,perhaps you could hit 3.75ghz with good temps.
    Or isf there is a 7.5 option you could run the memory just a little below its rated max speed say 490 fsb and run 3.67G on the cpu.
    I get good bandwith on the memory on both 490fsb and 500fsb,butI really have to push the mem voltage for 500.
    Thats a function of my memory tho,yours is designed to run that fast.
    I should really run my machine at 490 because i can run the mem at 2.08v in bios,its just 500fsb and 3.5ghz seems neater.
    Your mushkin memory may need.02-.04 more v entered in bios than what it says on the memory for 1000mhz(theres memory voltage drop for me).
    The vdroop drop on the cpu seems to increase for me with higher temps,also it does happen under load,as the voltage gets higher ,i find it doesnt drop as much.
    Im running my machine with eist etc enabled ,but when testing I turn them off.

    Not really relative since I have the X48-DS4, but this was the easiest overclock I have ever achieved. Passes 10 passes of IBT and Memtest. I think you are quite close to getting it dialed in. I have never had any luck with the 1T command rate, for 24/7 usage, that setting ate some pretty high end ram for me before.
