    I got the 4800+. :)

It was on sale at NewEgg a for only $250 in December of 2006. At that time it was a great choice. Originally sold for $1,100. :) And was the fasted of the original Dual cores they made for 939s.

And I just remembered, before the 4800+ I had a single core... I guess a 3700+... it was 1.8GHz and everybody tried to get it up to 2.6GHz?

    See previous post.

I tried everything to get 3.789GHz to work and it failed every time. :(

Jumping ahead, I loaded an old Profile from a year ago and I'm running 3.85GHz thanks to it. I did restart one more time and set MCH to +0.2V.

    I'll test with Hyper-Pie (Visa's Super-Pie) and 3DMark '05 and brb.

Then explain what all failed at 3.789GHz and the differences with 3.85GHz.

    High Sierra,

    Both HyperPI0 and 3Dmark05 passed.

Scored 24,695 in 3DMark05 which is highest ever. But before I had an 8800GTX so that's no surprise.

I maybe don't need +0.1v FSB with +0.2v MCH even though I am at 3.85GHz -yesterday I said that +0.1v FSB was always neccasary over 3.8GHz but that was a year ago before I ever tried MCH at +0.2 or +0.3v.

So what did I try as far as 3.789GHz (all with MCH 0.2v unless noted) and all failed?
(MOBO would not POST and BIOS reset itself every time.)
    -1.28125v vCore and 1010MHz RAM
    -1.28125v vCore and 842MHz RAM
    -1.28750v vCore and 842MHz RAM
    -1.29375v vCore and 842MHz RAM
    -1.30000v vCore and 842MHz RAM
    -1.30625v vCore and 842MHz RAM
    -1.31250v vCore and 842MHz RAM
-(I also tried several with FSB +0.1v and/ or MCH +0.3v.)

So why did my old profile for "3.85GHz CPU only 1.31250v", work the instant I implemented it?

Well, I noticed that except for the 5-5-5-15 RAM timings all others were Auto. All the settings that failed above had the RAM's additional timings manually set based on the Memset programs readings- which were the same as the manufacturers- I had manually set them.

At anything below 3.789GHz everything was fine with RAM timings in addition to the 5-5-5-15 manually set and MCH at +0.2v, RAM +0.3v. And like I said before, I had MCH at +0.3v and CPU only 3.0GHz for two months.

All I have left to do for now is see how well Media Center works. If it fails I'll just have to put my Dual TV Card into my 939.

Anyway I'm still at 3.85GHz and I'll find a template I started on and get all the BIOS settings to u and it should work fine. I'll post it before tomorrow late afternoon and maybe tonight if possible.

    c ya

    PS
I still need to get 3.789GHz to work with timings other than the 5-5-5-15 set to Auto. (geez i cant believe I almost overlooked that.lol)
