2.5625 is one notch above 2.5000 for my CPU voltage. Why would that be a hopeful typo for? That isn't high....

    Something is very wrong!
    In post #7:
CPU Vcore ...................x.xxxxx........: [y.yyyyy] <===== (manually set this to the value "x.xxxxx" displayed in your bios)

x.xxxxx is the "normal" voltage for your cpu. This value is usually in the range of 1.10000 - 1.3xxxx

In the PC HEALTH section of the bios, what value is currently shown for Vcore?

Intel's Processor Specification Finder shows: VID Voltage Range: 0.85V - 1.3625V for your e8400

Too little voltage in the bios settings will cause problems.
Too much voltage can fry your cpu, memory, mobo or other components.

What is your highest COMPLETELY STABLE overclock when using 2x2GB of memory?

Ok yeah Major typo for me. My voltage is ***1.25625***, one notch above the stock 1.25000 voltage. Again, I can run stabily with 2.5000 V or Auto at 3.6 GHz but I just upped the Voltage for stability. I fail . But to answer your question about me ever having a stable overclock with 2x2 GB of RAM. The answer is NO. Even if I try to work with the RAM with factory clocks and such I still get random freezes. But I have yet to try to set the MCH voltage to 1.200. If I am not mistaken I have tried that once before and Once again I got a random crash sometime after I booted into windows. When I get time I will post back my results by altering the MCH voltage.

It sounds like you've never had a stable system with 2x2GB.

You're wasting your time if you're trying to overclock your system and you haven't even confirmed that your system is stable at stock settings.

You've got to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run.

I know I haven't had a stable overclock with 2x2 GB of RAM. Nor have I ever had a stable system with 4 GB of any kind of RAM for that matter. Even if I try 1x4 GB of RAM with STOCK settings or 2x2 GB at STOCK settings I still get random crashes. But as of right now I am running 3.60 GHz with 2x1 GB of RAM and it has been stable since the day I got the system.

Ok. A couple questions about the whole MCH Core Voltage thing. What exactly does the MCH voltage control? How do I know if I need to raise the MCH reference Voltage any? I see you left your timings on auto. Do I need to set the ICH I/O to 1.500 V manually? What does that control? I dont have the option for the ICH I/O Core voltage.

The MCH is the north bridge and i have my ich i/o at 1.5 not auto as for mch 1.2 but you can go higher just keep n-b under 65c,imo

I still got the same aggravating results as the past 1,000,000 times I have tried to get this RAM to work. I got a random crash soon after I booted into windows. Might I add I got booted into windows with these settings after 1 restart after the initial start up. Why did it restart by itself like this and then boot into windows as if nothing was wrong and then crash on me?
