I notice there are 2 revisions of E8400. What is difference?

C0 was the old version, which often requires more energy for overclocking and gives off more heat compared to E0.

I have a C0 and its a real pain to overclock. I have almost the same cooler as you and temps get to 78'c at 1.425v. Even at this, my system is still not stable.

Other C0s have been better I think, I just have a particulary bad chip

There are also a few tests where at stock, it has been proven the C0 has tighter Cach timings and therefore slightly better performance at stock.

I wonder if this is why the E0 clocks better:P

I'm having a real difficult time as well. See thread New Member.

I had good luck letting the MB set all the voltages, but trying to do it manually has been a real trial. If it will boot it will run stable, but then on the next boot it reverts back to default CPU speed.
