I ran memtest on two sticks so far. The first one ran 10 hours, 29 passes, 0 errors. The second ran 8 hours, 23 passes, 0 errors. Since those two passed, that is what I am currently running in my computer now. I will test the other two sticks later. So now I can rule out the ram crashing my computer. Since I'm only (so far) having problems with games, is it possible it is not the hardware? Like directx 10 or somthing?

I just ran "Windows Memory Diagnostic" and while it was running it said there were "hardware problems detected." After the test, as Vista started to load, BSOD. After restart, when the desktop came up, it said I have memory problems. How can I have memory problems when the ram I am using passed memtest? And I set my bios to your suggested settings?

I got tired of all the crashes so I reinstalled Vista. This time I installed the 32-bit version and what do you know? No more crashes! So problem solved, sort of. Thanks for all the help.

First of all, thank you so much Lsdmeasap!! I appreciate all the time you took to help me solve my crashing problem.

OK, what I said about installing Vista 32-bit above didn't solve the problem after all. But your suggested settings did solve the problem the second time I tried them. The first time I used your settings, I used all of them but I still had problems. Some of the settings caused the bios to reset it self I guess. I've been busy and I kind of gave up on it the last couple of weeks.

I was pretty sure, based on what you said about 8 GB of ram not being stable at 1066, that I needed to concentrate on my ram settings in the bios. I underclocked the ram to 800 and bumped the voltage from 1.8 to 2.064v (that's what EasyTune6 shows the voltage as). I also put in the correct timings of 6,6,6,18. Now the ram is showing up as PC2-6400 instead of PC2-8500.

Bottom line? I just played Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for a solid two hours with no problems. I know that isn't enough time to be sure my problems are solved, but I've never played that long. My next step is to start overclocking. I started a new thread for that. Anyway, thanks again!

OK, here are the exact changes I made. All changes I made are in red. Next I would like to start overclocking. 3.4 to 3.6 is my goal on air cooling. What do you think?
