    Default x58 Extreme

    Hi .

Im having some serious problems with this board . My first one worked very well and i managed to oc to 4.2 ghz and was stable and life was very nice, untill one day it decided to just give up on my having a short circut breakdown of some sort and on its way to death it draged one ram stick with it aswell as my gtx260 sli setup +2hdd´s. It was probably my fault in some way i thought so i went ahead and bought another x58 extreme (they arent cheap!) and i plugged it in and everything booted up nice . I installed vista and all hardware drivers and gamed some and it was stable and good and once again i loved gigabyte. The following day when i try to boot up i get ""scanning bios image in hard drive"" and from what i have seen and tried from google so far dosent work , what am i supposed to do ?

EDIT:I have tried clearing cmos and removing battery but with no success

    kind regards
    Aleborg

Can you give us some more info, Like what PSU you are using and exactly what ram you have and how much. Full Specs would be sweet.

That doesnt sounds real good. But Im worried that possibly you have a bad PSU. As I can understand that if your MB decided to fry you may loose a ram stick or to but I wouldnt have though much current if any would go up the sata lead. Do you have another PSU to try? Id be looking there first. And if all else fails, start by removing every non essential item. Try and Boot with 1 ram stick, and 1 graphics card. Just load BIOS optimum Defaults and maybe you could update to the latest BIOS if you havent Already?

Shhhh. Dont tell anyone. Yeah I know what your saying, its usually a long and painful process to send your new stuff back and wait for a replacement. It sucks. I was in your boat. Im sure there will be some others that will chime in with some other suggestions. LSDMEASAP is the local Gigabyte Guru. Im not sure if he's away for a bit or not but He will get to you when he can. Just try and be patient.

Im putting my faith in to this forum =) I have also sent a messege to the Gigabyte support thingy on the homepage. I have patience so waiting shouldent be an issue its just that i got myself booked for a huge lan event on friday and gaming on my not so kickass laptop is simply not fun . So worst case scenario i will buy a new mobo tomorrow and im afraid it wont be a Gigabyte :/
