    I can get get tRFC=50 np too. I'm Running tRFC=50 super stable now.

    Should I go for 49?

    Or better yet 48? I'll try 49 now.

    (The 3DMark test results are just flakey I'll rerun it at tRFC=50 later. Crysis game SCREAMS; 'mercy plz'!; when tRFC=50.)

    tRFC=49 is a no go. PC barfed so bad it ran down the sides of my desk and formed a puddle on the floor.

    So the conclusion to yesturdays tRD and tRFC testing is as follows:

    1. Lowest tRD=8.

    2. Lowest tRFC=50.

    3. tRFC=50 thru 56 is no prob. They all checked out just perfect.

    Are there too many advanced memory timing settings for you?

    BTW, I lied! I've been running stable with tRFC = 48. Once I started tweaking the advanced settings, I had to loosen tRFC to 56 for my initial testing (thanks Lsdme).

    I'm letting Lsdme handle this one.
    It's confusing as hell trying to connect the dots between Gigabytes terminology and Memtest. I've got it almost figured out, but.... my recent test config with manually altered Advanced Memory Timings passed with flying colors, but the values displayed in Memset only have a vague resemblance to the bios parms.

    I get so easily confused by the facts.

    I finally had a chance to start working on the above last night.

    Tweaking advanced memory timings results in small performance gains where you're trying to get the last few % gains.
    On my system, these optimized settings are similar to running my cpu at 3 - 5 MHz faster speeds.

    It's a lot of work for a small gain.
    My current stable settings are:

    tRRD = 3
    tRPT = 3
    tRFC = 50
    tWTR = 3
    tWR = 6
    Driving Strength = 1066

    YMMV!

    I have tested with some of these timings set tighter (lower), but benchmark results were mixed, even though the settings were stable.

    oops.....my 15 hour OCCT test using these settings just "crashed" after running for 11 hours, 44 minutes.
    I don't require my system to be more stable than I am, so I'm willing to keep these settings.


    This info is from Lsdme's Memory Timings sticky, just below the image you plagiarized from his excellent guide:

    To further confuse things, the bios setting names vary with mobo models, manuafacturers, software programs, and documentation.

    As near as I can tell:
    tWR--------------------------------> Read to Write Delay (tRD_WR)

    I've run across several well written guides where they specify some general rules or guidelines tying two or more memory timing settings to each other, such as:
    timingA
    should be greater than or equal to timingX + timingY
    timingQ = timingR + 2

    The next step:

    Try increasing cpu host frequency in 5 or 10 MHz steps, test for stability and benchmark each increase.
    It will be easier if you initially leave the memory sub-timings on AUTO while testing.
    tRFC can be left at 52.

    You're currently at 3.950 GHz, using 9 x 439, with your memory running at DDR2-1054. With luck, your memory might be able to run at 1080 - 1100 MHz or a bit higher.
    Go on, go for another world's record (for you anyway).
