In my last post, I asked:
Have you tried testing with an older pci card with INIT DISPLAY FIRST set to PCI?
In the mobo user's manual, page 8, the block diagram shows that both PCI-E slots are handled by the north bridge and that the standard PCI slots are handled by the south bridge. That's why I suggested testing with a PCI video card.

When you can enter the BIOS have you added any voltages yet?

I would be sure to set MCH to 1.2-1.24 and then also set these to see if it helps >>>

    ICH I/O……………….....1.500V............: <<< 1.55
    ICH Core…………...……1.100V............: <<< 1.14-1.25

When you do your "trick" you do mean you have to manually reboot the PC Correct? Just checking

Have you tried a older or different case power switch to be sure the one you are using does not have a short possibly? How about with ONLY the power switch connected and no reset switch?

I have not tested with a regular PCI video card, will have to do some searching to locate one...

I have tried to enter voltages, but no luck. Tonight I took the power switch assembly out of the case thinking it may be a short, no luck. Tried with just the power cable and tried using a screwdriver as my power and reset but same thing.

    *EDIT*
    I entered optimized defaults, options for ICH I/O are 1.45, 1.5, 1.57, no 1.55
ICH Core 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, no 1.1x option. Is there another setting needed to make those other values available?

Sorry, no just some boards have finer adjustments.

Use ICH I/O 1.57 and ICH Core 1.2.

You may be looking at a RMA, do you still have time to do so where you bought the board?

Have a look on EVGA's site for a Bios update for your graphics card, what is the make and model of your monitor?

Yes I can still RMA but afraid this will be my last Gigabyte product :( .

Thanks for all the help, this is a great forum. Just wish I could justify sticking with Giga.

    Cheers,
