Still have not adjusted any settings until I have more input on the RAM configurations.

    Error from orthos earlier:

Hmm, the one with a lot of decimals is usually a CPU error. And as far as i remember stress.txt appears only in regular Prime. When the RAM is at fault you'll usually see "Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" so let's try to get that CPU stable.

Up the VTT (CPU Termination) to 1.4v and PLL voltage to 1.58. Maybe even drop the Vcore a bit.

Will try that when I get home. I have yet to modify any settings that LSD had reccomended yet since I have 4gb rather than 8gb. Do you think I should try to work with the lower ram speeds?

Hmm, that's a difficult one to answer. Try lower RAM speed without changing any other settings. If it works at lower speed, up the MCH voltage a tad, change Refresh to ACT delay (tRFC) to 62/68/72, and if all else fails add +0.1v more to DRAM Voltage. If that fails too send the RAM back to the manufacturer.

I have gotten 8GB to run at 1050MHz with a tRFC of 62 and a voltage of 2.2v (+0.1 higher than what the manufacturer specs, but the BIOS reads 2.15v so i'm pretty sure the RAM will be okay) which is damn well, considering i have to run 525FSB (E6550, x7 multi) and i'm on the older P35 chipset.

The first batch of RAM i got could only run 900 reliably although they were rated for 1066. Then i sent them back and the new kits perform up to par.

Sorry for missing you had already moved to 4GB! Here is what I would suggest for that kit with your above speed >>>

    Code:

    FWIW:
My Mushkins run best at 2.02 volts.
MCH core = 1.24 - 1.28 volts covers the bases, 1.26 is the sweet spot.
DDR2-950 through DDR2-1102 is no problem, very stable and cool running.

The only limitation is that I can't go higher than 1102 MHz, but that probably
has more to due with my low cpu multiplier and the E6550 is usually limited to a 50% o/c.

So far has not been good, but I just now have finally started to make some progress. I think I got too far ahead of myself thinking I could jump right in and configure these settings like I completely understand whats going on, but I can't do that just yet... haha. I'm still too much of a beginner. I need to learn to really understand how the settings I change effect my board in which manner rather than just going/guessing off/on how my board reacts to certain settings (i know thats a part of it too though).

I took a step back and lowered everything down quite a bit and adjusted the voltages as per everyones great suggestions :)

My aim was still 4ghz just with some loose settings to tweak.

These settings have been stable for 3 hours and running now in Orthos:

Peak Temperature in Orthos is 60 Celsius with what I would say with an average temp of 56-58. Now that I have a stable setting should I slowly try to increase the processor speed any before I fine tune the ram more? Or with the performance of my cooler will it start becoming to warm? What is the max temp you would want to stay at for safety? If it is safe please advise a guesstimate on what speed and voltages :). Also, if no there is no more room for cpu tweakage will I have to accept a much lower cpu speed to achieve higher RAM speeds? In that scenario which would you choose? I think that question is a no brainer, but I had to ask to make sure!

Sorry for all the questions, and a million thank yous for all the help everyone!

60C is still alright in my book, 70ish is where you should start to worry. 411x 2 is 822 btw... So your RAM is closer to 800 than 900MHz now.

Of course you should aim for higher CPU speeds, but given that your memory is 1066MHz you could go back to the 2.40 multi, giving you 986MHz. Then you could tighten the timings a little and you'll be gold.

Even if you won't reach the magic 4GHz stable, 3.9 is still a good overclock. I settled for 3.8 on a friends' E7300 a few months back, since 4GHz was just too hot.

I checked Orthos this morning and it was still stable at 21 hours. I rebooted and I actually had the memory multi at 2.66D so my ram was stable at 1093!

So 3.9ghz and RAM at 1093 is an acceptable level if nothing else. I'm still curious as to if I could go any further though.
