    ProfJim got you covered here or would you like my suggested settings for you for 3.8Ghz?

    ProfJim does have me covered but I am open to your recommendations.
    Also, in Easytune HW monitor I see that the "system" temp is up to 41c. What is normal? What is this measuring? The ambient temps are way up today but my case is well ventilated.

    Thanks

    Well normal Temp depends on your case airflow, voltages used, and ambient temps. anywhere between 34-44 would be normal

    That is measuring from a Temp Sensor CLOSE to the NB in the boards PCB. Not the NB, but close. Here is some testing done by Kick >>

    Glad to see you're doing well. Once again Lsdme has meddled in "my" thread. No problem. You're in good hands, after all we can't have too many cooks in the kitchen, and Lsdme is the master chef!!

    I'll be following your progress. Happy tweaking.

    So far looks solid. Is it OK to to enable CPU Enhanced Halt and or C4/C4E State Support while overclocking? I would prefer to lower the clocks when not under load.

    @bobs1812
    It's advised to leave all power savings options disabled while you're seeking your overclocking goals. The power saving modes might induce system instability with moderate to highly overclocked systems. Once you're satisfied that your system is stable, you can enable these features and then see if the system remains stable.

    @russb
    It looks like your system is stable at stock settings. We can tweak some memory timings for improved memory performance without additional overclocking if this is what you want. Some people initially look for a stable stock setup and later decide to overclock their system.

    The system has now been stable at 3.8Mhz overclock with one exception.
    Today when I powered up the power light came on for a split second and turned off and then after a second the PC came back on and booted normally. Does this have any significance?

    This happens to me on very rare occasions. It's possible that the bios might reset to bios defaults, but the reset usually occurs when the system makes 3 or more power on/power off cycles before it finally starts.

    Continue to use your system and apply heavy testing or gaming loads.
