    Default GA-EP45-UD3P Rev. 1.1 Intermittent BSOD

    Hi Everyone,

    I just received all the components to my new media server which includes the GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.1, Intel Q8200 and QCR 2gbx2 memory. I am using windows home server with power pack installed. I know this is a little over kill for a media server, but I have put whole home A/V in the house and wanted something that would manage all my movies and music. Since getting some of the componets (I have only installed one HD and the video card) in the rackmount case, I have been getting random BSOD and when I receive the error report from MS they point to a driver issue. I flashed the BOIS with F8 and reset then optimized the bios using the optimize setting in the bios.

    I did not seem to have an issue the first time I loaded the OS until I intalled the drivers for the LAN, audio and chipset. As I was loading the drivers I got the first BSOD. After downloading the newest audio and lan drives and installing them, I still had the same issues. I decided to reinstall a fresh copy of the OS with the current driver to see if that fixed the issues. Unfortunitly, this did not help. I looked on the OCZ website for help, and didn't find anything that would help me. I am wondering if I have memory that is not compatable with the motherboard. The motherboard seems to start okay, but whenever I put any type of load on the comupter I get the BSOD. Not sure if this is related or not. I will post the bios info if that will be of value to help assist with my issue.

    Try running memtest to check for errors,imo

    Hi there,

    I had a BSOD issue on my previous mobo which was the P965-DS3. It always referred to as driver issue - in particular my wireless network card.

    It turned out, that somehow I must have damaged my PSU (which was a 550 W at the time) which in return didn't get enough power to the mobo causing that trouble; ultimately resulting in my PSU giving way, my mobo and gfx dying. The whole thing started because of a shortcut I believe caused by someone certain....

    Either way, what PSU are you using, they may be the culprit?

    Has the ram got enough volts and the settings on the ram are good.
    They have a settings template here on the board.
    post your settings, someone will look at them.

    Hi Everyone,

    These are my BIOS settings. Please let me know if you have any ideas on how I can get my system in a stable configuration. Since this is a server, at this point, I wouldn't mind running my memory at 800mhz if that would make the system run without the BSOD.

    Legacy USB Setting is in the Integrated Peripherals BIOS page, not MIT. I would suggest you disable this for now to rule it out as part of your issues.


    But I can say, that is not likely a issue but rather all the Auto settings you are using

    I would advise you start with these, and then if you would like better performance let us know once you are sure you are stable and we will help you tighten things back down >>>

    Thanks for the new settings. I have had the box running for a couple of days and had a BCOD. I am thinking that I may an issue with my power supply. While it is a good thermaltake, it is an older model and I used an adapter to convert from the 20 pin to the 24 pin and the 4 pin to the 8 pin. I have ordered a new power supply from Newegg and should be here in a couple of days and I will see if that fixes the remaining issues. I will keep you posted on what happens next.
