Default GA EP45-ud3r with patriot viper ep 1066

I need help getting the ram to run 1066 in dual channel. It will run great at 800 4 4 4 12 in dual channel, but not at 1066.Since it is etreme performance ram do i need to set the X.M.P. in the bios to a profile or leave it disabled?
The specs are 5 5 5 15 at 2.1 volts which I have set manually and it won't boot it just cycles. My cpu is a q9550.Gigabyte and patriot are no help.Well gigabyte told me to clock the ram at 800 which I did.but the ram is 1066 and I would like to see it run that,in dual channel. It will also run 1066 in single channel just fine.

Check each ram stick one at a time using Memtest 86 + all settings on Auto apart from Memory voltage and main timings. Sounds like one of the sticks or slots on your board is faulty.

Enabling the XMP just means it takes the XMP settings rather than the JEDEC ones, so it will also tell your board the neccesary automatic timings, even for the other memory options apart from main 5,5,5,15. So this may help, but i doubt it.

Please give me your Full settings you try to use that fail and I will advise back. You likely just need to adjust some voltages or timings, or you may be using the wrong memory multi.

I am running a q9550 and heres the link to my ram.
    Patriot Memory - Products
Also we tried some different overclocks and got the ram to 875 and thats as far as we can get it.
I think since this memory is not on the compatibility list its got to be the advanced timings,or subtimings.I have read that the GSkill 1066 ram runs right out of the box and so does the team extreme.
It may be time to get something different if I want to see 1066 in dual channel.

Just thought of something important here. Check out the latest bios for this board. BIOS F8 : Enhanced memory compatibility

I dont see why this ram wont work. Have you tested the sticks in memtest each yet using default main timings and voltage?

Yea I am good on the f8 bios. The ram runs at 1066 in single channel and 800 in dual channel the sticks work by themselves fine.Gigabyte tech says to leave it at 800 because that m/b doesn't support that ram.
I'm thinking of just getting ram that does work like corsair dominator or gskill.
    Which do you recommend.

I think I found the problem. The computer stopped booting in dual channel until i reset the bios but would not restart.I tested the sticks individually in memtest which they both passed but in dual channel they would not test, about 5 seconds in the test would stop and then the comp would reboot.I have 2 1gb sticks of crucial ballistix 800 which passed all the memtests and are running great in dual channel.Patriot said the sticks are bad and are going to rma them.
    Cool!

I have the same Patriot Memory and a EP45-ud3r. Works fine in dual channel at the rated speed. You shouldn't need to only run ram from the very limited QVL list.
Don't be surprised if your ram is actually OK but needs to have the bios settings further tweaked. This board is very finicky.

Patriot says that since it won't test its probably bad.So I get a new set.Currently I have two sticks of crucial 800 running stable at 1000 5 5 5 15.
Any way can you post your bios settings so I can see what you are set at?
    Thanks
