    I would like to achieve around 4GHz, as i have searched around and seen this is possible!

    So far i have messed around a little with the vcore and frequency:
    -Vcore 1.3
    -Frequency 3.4GHz

    Nice temps and i ran prime95 for 5 hours with no errors.
    I did leave my computer running all night for some downloads, and when I awoke my computer was on, but off at the same time. I think my processor shut down..
    And now my bios are reset to stock..(Not that it's a huge deal, being that i didn't change much)
    Anyways I'm sure that means something for stability...

    We need a link to your ram's specs.
    Create a signature that includes your major system components, the mobo's rev# (lower left corner on your mobo) and the bios version. Specify the memory's model; XP2, HP2, etc.
    This might seem picky, but it helps eliminate possible errors, especially when we're helping others with similar setups.

    Make these bios changes:

    and for some reason, windows only shows 3.25gb of ram

    When you're running a 32-bit operating system, it's normal for windows to only "see" about 3.2 - 3.4 GB of memory. I'm running windows 2000 pro and have the same result. All the memory is being used, but I've found that windows is "using" less physical memory (especially while running some stress tests) and the windows swap file usage is under 35 MB.

    Please post your current bios setup and we'll shoot for 3.8 GHz. If you look at this thread, you'll see that getting close to or above 4.0 GHz takes a whole lot more effort.

    saving bios profiles
    If you're not familiar with saving and loading bios profiles, read the first portion of this post.
    Save your current (333 MHz) profile before you make any changes.

    new settings
    8.5x450 MHz = 3.825 GHz
    2.00Dx450 MHz = DDR2-900 memory speed
    Memory timings will be left loose why we are overclocking.
    Once we've reached a stable overclock, we will tweak the memory for maximum performance

    stress testing:
    Stress testing is a PITA, but is vital to ensure a successful overclock. Cutting corners here can lead to more than BSODs or system freezes, an unstable system can cause data file corruption and possibly force you to reformat your hard drive and re-install your operating system and all programs.

    program errors:
    If any of these tests generate errors, stop the test, detail the error message and note how long the test ran. If any of these tests fail, do NOT run any further tests.

    1) Immediately after you save the bios settings and exit, you will boot directly to your cd/dvd and run Memtest86+ for at least 2 full passes (8 tests per pass). More passes are better. Each pass should take about 35 minutes.

    2) Run at least two of the following tests for 6 - 10 hours each:

    - Prime95 Blend Test, make sure that "check for rounding errors" is selected.

    - OCCT Blend Test, you will need to configure the items to be monitored. Configure all possible temperatures and voltages. By default, OCCT generates graphs for all monitored items. Use CUSTOM TIME to select the duration of the test.

    - Orthos is similar to Prime95.

    - Intel BurnTest (IBT) is a rigorous test that will raise cpu temperatures higher than any of the above programs. Run a single test using 10 loops. This test should complete in about 20 minutes. Monitor your temps while running this program using RealTemp, CoreTemp, Everest, or HWmonitor.

    Changed settings, saved and exited BIOS.
    Computer turned off, then on, then off, then on..(auto reset bios)
    (which i have had previous troubles with when i get past ~3.6GHz)

    So i turned the cpu freq. down to 420 and i will run tests overnight.
