    Question Please Help me Optimize my O/C... UD3P

    Hello,

    I am currently sitting at 4Ghz (finally)

    BIOS F9
    E8500 E0 stepping
    GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.0
    G. Skill 8800 @ 1130MHz 1.9V

    Below is my template. I think I can do better with the volts on the motherboard, but since I am finally stable I am a little hesitant to do random changes.

    My temps are OK, looking at mid to upper 30's during idle and I get right around 65ish deg during prime95 small FFTs. I saw as high as 74deg during intel's burn in test.

    Please help me optimize my O/C.

    clock skews seem a bit high
    dram term can be manual with input numbers that is same the rest
    channel a and b reference can be manual
    ich/o can be manual
    ich core can be manual

    UPDATE:

    E8500 E0 Stepping @ 4.105GHz 1.40625v
    PC2-8800 RAM 5-5-5-15 @ 1159MHz

    I am trying to optimize my O/C, but if I try to lower my vCore I get a BSOD. Below is my Template:

    I idle around 35degC with an internal case temp of 24degC.

    The peak I have seen is ~71ish degC during Intel BurnIn test (linpack) and only about ~64-65degC with Prime95 Small FFT.


    Can you help me to get a cooler running chip?

    I guess the cpu hsf seated fine?
    Case airflow is good?

    Is that intake or exhaust fan on top at the front??

    71ish On number 1 or 2 linpak test?
    Linpak will warm it up no doubt
    You have overheat protection still enabled in cmos for backup?

    Lots of a foam or sound deadening mateial packed in there?

    whats its specifications? just a general foam?

    Heat sink is seated fine, I did several checks and re-mounts to make sure. I am using the Megahalems heat sink that I lapped.

    Case airflow is good?
    I have a MM-UFO case with a total of 12 fans, whne I run the tests they are all on max, the CPU heat sink has a push pull setup and exhaust to the back of the case where there is an exhaust fan.

    Is that intake or exhaust fan on top at the front??
    Intake on the fron, exhaust out the back and top.

    Test 1, max stress
    Linpak will warm it up no doubt

    I disabled the overheat protection, do you thinkI should reenable it?
    I have never seen 71ish degC in anything other than linpack. normal use I see low 50s at the most.

    No sound dampening material at all.

    Hmm I don't think the 12 fans are being beneficial really.
    different church and pew..I only have 4 tricools,p180b, but my volts aren't as high, but my temps no were near that.
    Keep in mind the cabling to.. is it in the way at all?

    Here is a pic of the inside of my case, as you can see, there aren't any cables in the way.

    I think my volts are high so that is why I am seeing the temps I am. But I am unsure how to adjust them to maintain stability.

    It has never been very clear to me what volts and settings are dependent on on another. It all seems random!

    Yeah its pretty neat in there.

    So its not that.

    well the other thing is you don't run Linpak every time either.
    if it was me I would make sure the cpu temp alaarm and throttle back was enabled

    See what the new OCCT with Linpak(its built in) does for a hoot.

    You probably made sure you can't do the OC with less volts to?
